Poker 3,710
Oh, so that is why Madonna made a mash-up of those two songs? Because they're different? I see. they are the same genre. And Express Yourself was remixed on her tour, so... Kindness rules all.
Ray of Light 8,134
Are people still on this? I just remember Madonna stating her opinion on a song (just like we all do on a daily basis), and then performing it with a context in which she stated that Lady Gaga and Madonna, are not indeed the same. She didn't lie. People just like to misinterpret everything she does. And good for Gaga, she's so classy. I love it.
pieces of eight 0
The songs have some elements that are similar between them. Key and chord progressions are mainly what I'm talking about. Doesn't mean they are the same song by a long, long shot. Anybody who knows a lick about music understands that a lot of popular songs were written with similar chord progressions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOlDewpCfZQ
Blank Space 0
Gaga said she ‘truthfully believes’ Born This Way and Express Yourself does not sound alike. ‘I don’t need to take anybody’s torch,’ she said. She shouldn't have said that. She said truth it's completely different songs, it's like Poker Face compared to Roar...

Shadow 6,601
But she never made it and none of those artists are even associated with punk rock That's why it's so weird. Does Suicidal Tendancies count? Anyways, maybe it was one of those jokes she tends to make. JSS

She shouldn't have said that. I actually cannot tell how they sound alike AT ALL like, does anyone else feel the same way? Like everyone around me says they do but, i just cannot hear it for the life of me, and ive tried everything. Ive tried playing them at the same time, ive tried slowing both down and pausing a couple times, rewinding ect ect... But I still cant find it

tristessa 0
Sincerely, by listening ARTPOP I feel like Gaga wants to stop being seen as a Gay singer She was not at the beginning of her career... And when someone say he's a Little Monster, the first thing most of people think is 'He's gay' ! Which is reductive; I'm a big fan of Gaga and I'm not gay... Well, I don't know about that. All that she has said and done in the name of gay rights, and achieving a "gay icon" status which she is apparently now denouncing, possibly because it sounds cool or surprising or something, and will get people talking, it's a part of her career that she has always held sacred. She doesn't have to be seen as "the gay singer", but it's still gonna be a part of who she is regardless.
Nemo 4,286
It's the "icon" part that she's shying away from, not the "gay" part. She's just being modest.
