Ziva 193
Who cares if it debuts at 1/2/3 or 100? I am a Madonna fan - I don't love Lady Gage but I don't mind some of her songs. Madonna has definitely had her ups and downs career wise and even Ray Of Light her awesome album that went 4x Platinum debuted at number 2. Why is everybody having meltdowns? It shows that many of you are shallow and only support Gaga if she is number 1 or has stellar sales. A true fan would stick by Lady Gaga. I love Madonna even after the Hard Candy crappy album. I like MDNA but I absolutely don't love it. I think the gp takes issue with Gaga because she set the bar too high for this album - if she shut her mouth about all the artistic crap and just relaxed with the music she would not have pissed so many people off. Finally, it's great to mock artists when your favourite is "slaying" [i hate that word] but your favourite act can't always be number 1! I think I've raised valid points without being too critical - I'm just trying to tell you guys to take a breather it's not the end of the world! Another thing, judging by the relatively low sales I don't think this album will have longevity. I didn't say it was crappy I just think it will struggle. I actually don't mind "applause" and "dope." I agree with you!! Welcome to GGD! I'm a huge Madonna fan as well btw :fan:

Fizzy 2,198
I still think Gaga is off to a GREAT START. LOOK AT THE DAMAGE CONTROL SHE HAS ALREADY DONE: 1. Radio is backing up her again. 2. YouTube Views are increasing compared to MTN, TEOG, Y&I! 3. Single Sales are doing good. :) “The scars on my mind are on Replay”
Bitter 3,640
This flop is unbearable tbh. I mean less sales than PRISM? Embarrassing to say the least

Single Sales are doing good. :) Most meltdowns are due to the album sales The 3 things from that list are the ones we thought needed damage control and it did work, but we never expected she'd have trouble with albums. It's funny, when some things are fixed (radio, youtube views, single longevity) other things go wrong. I hope that by the end of the era she'll have managed to secure each thing so the next era would have a much more comfortable start. She's done well though. She should sell her soul yo SATAN again! But on a serious note, you are right. Hopefully she'll do good. On the bright side. She'll release good and commercial videos and more singles so that her album sells. BTW sold so many the first week that she did end the era abruptly. “The scars on my mind are on Replay”

Of course, until I see ARTPOP selling consistently I remain doubtful. But I really hope Intersscope and Gaga manage to impress and push ARTPOP with more promo, great performances, and especially good videos. Applause's video, no matter what some monsters think is directed by unprofessionals (flopmonsters tbh ) has garnered positive reviews and good streaming points. More videos like that, that is being Gaga weird as usual without turning people off, would do amazing things for her. Applause had crazyGa enough to be enjoyed by the fans while being visually pleasing with no controversy for everyone else. A win-win, imo.

Bye 3,947
This so much! it's 2013 and singles success matters the most. I wouldn't say that. One hit wonders have successful singles as well. Album success >>> Singles success, it's always been that way and that's how it shall remain. Album success means people want to listen to your entire creative work not just snippets of it that become hits. I remain hopeful she'll manage to keep promo on top and carry on the ARTPOP era as the album keeps selling consistently. And if that fails, there's always another album for sure.
