It's nice to think "Oh, X song would be great as the album's last single" but it doesn't necessarily work that way. You really don't know how many singles an album is going to have, it's all dependent on how well the songs/album do. Furthermore, it's a bad idea to save your strongest album track until the end, because who knows how the single(s) before that one will chart? If you release two songs that underperform/flop, it's going to be a lot harder for the next song to do well because it has very little momentum going for it, and momentum means a lot. Radio stations are going to be very quick to pick up the 3rd single if DWUW does well on radio like Applause did. But if she picks stuff like Aura and Venus for her 3rd and 4th singles (which radio would be hesitant to support anyway I imagine) and they don't do very well, particularly on radio, a lot more stations are likely to take a "wait and see" attitude on subsequent singles, which makes for an unnecessary uphill battle.
