Applause outlasting the entire top 5 on radio

Hey guys :zilla: , what do you think will be the songs Do What U Want will "compete" on the charts once it gets solid airplay?

Judging by the overall radio update, they are: The Monster, Counting Stars, Timber, Unconditionally, Stay The Night and White Walls. Did I miss something?

According to HDD, Gaga's album roll out plan spans 2 weeks (via Interscope's president) so we'll have to see what unfolds.

In addition, despite Lady Gaga's dismissal, Troy Carter is still managing the album roll out until further notice.

The Monster and DWUW will be #1/#2, imo. Timber won't have enough cross-over appeal.

I really want to know what he did to piss her off to the point of being fired.

Maybe his vision was too "corporate" for her. He thinks very much in business terms, and Gaga started talking anti-corporate since she fired him.

I cant really judge her. People want to automatically assume she's a psycho b---h that wants full control. But who knows, maybe he didn't want her to pick the singles and she thought they were going to mess it up again, or maybe it was a fundamental disagreement on how her videos should be, or they had completely different visions of how to promote the record, etc.

It may have just been irreconcilable differences, and I wouldn't want her to have another era where she felt like she was being controlled/was unhappy with what was going on.

It couldnt have been SO bitter that they literally hate eachother, since he's still on the team as of this moment. I do think (like craig said) he may have a more corporate vision of promoting her work, and she wants to let the music etc. speak louder

On the charts:

CG > BTW

TD > Judas

Firework > TEOG

ET > Yuyi

LFN > MTN

Roar > Applause

Looks like Gaga will finally turn this mess around, thanks to Katy choosing a stinker..

I just feel a little sad because Troy seemed to be such a great HAUS member and just a prominent member of the whole community... But as Gaga said herself, we should focus on joy+positive thoughts and the amazing music to experience! And pray for the cool debut week numbers  :Jase:

So then I wonder whose idea it really was to make DWUW the second single and not Venus. Or whose idea it was to release Venus in the first place. I mean, if it was Gaga's idea to release Venus and Troy's idea to release DWUW, well then....

But if it was Gaga's idea to scrap Venus and release DWUW, I'm completely on board with her decision-making skills.

Gaga said she wanted DWUW and I take her word on that, and looking at the radio gains/itunes positions WW, she made a GREAT move

Troy's still on the team for now so maybe it's just that Gaga decided to try something new. We know how she always wants new and innovative ideas and maybe Troy was just bringing the same old, it's to be expected after four album cycles.

I think it was Gaga's decision, or she at least happily agreed to it. I mean, as soon as Interscope starting telling radio stations about the change of plans she tweeted it herself, it doesn't sound like she was against it.

I think single choices are mainly Interscope's decision rather than Troy's anyway.

11 Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball

For someone that gets so much buzz, is she REALLY that much of a force? I'm not being shady, but WCS was hardly a blockbuster.. and while this song was big, it didnt last that long either. Applause and WB are right next to eachother on iTunes practically and Gagas follow up is way ahead of anything Miley might put out

Undoubtedly. Venus could've killed this entire era. DWUW will be huge.

The fact that she has to smoke a joint on stage for buzz shows how desperate she is to stay relevant. And she doesn't really have the numbers to back it up.

I didnt even mention the fact ARTPOP will blow Bangerz out of the water in terms of WW sales and in terms of sales overall.

(Same goes to PRISM)

Its just funny, once the full picture gets built, these other two arent really as impressive as it seemed. DWUW outperforming Katy's single, Applause above Roar on Top 40 (which isnt that big of a deal, but still noteworthy), and Miley's single not really a blockbuster like people make it seem and Gaga having more airplay than Miley combined.
