craig 680
I don;t think CMA effects Hot 100 anymore - we didn't see drops for Drake or Katy lead singles when they released. Rather, Drake went up because of increased streaming.
Pop Art 1,773
From what I know Billboard doesn't count live performances. I dont know why they should imo They do. It was in one of their articles earlier this year, when they first introduced the new streaming rule. As a rule of thumb, just assume that any version of the song will count. Foivos 64
CMA's logic is the following: If you buy a single (without preorder or anything else) you lower the price of the album depending to song's price. For example if an album costs 10,99$ and you buy a 0,99$ song the price of album decreases to 10$. So when you complete your album you pay 10$. So you bought music which costs 10,99$ total.. You cannot buy both the 10,99$ album and the 0,99 $ single and both purchases will count for charts. So the sale of the song is substracted from total sales.. Mariano 958
When I figure it out completely I'm gonna tell you. For now I think that I have understood it wrong Are we talking about single preorders, because I though that we care for album preorders tbh... of course I'm talkin about album pre orders, I've never heard of single pre order The Album Is on pre order since the day Applause was released .. and It has always been album version and not single.. VforVendetta 2,024
This effect doesn't only lasts 1 week, but most of the people complete their albums in first week. I mean when Adele release her album we can see CMA effect for weeks for her lead single This still seems wrong to me. This means that Applause can lose even 50%+ of it's sales if ARTPOP becomes a smash album
GagaMyBlood95 9,899
I can't wait for tomorrow, and the day after, everything will be flooded with ARTPOP

Alchemist 0
Applause 4 on radio and yeah CMA does NOT affect the Hot 100. It only affects the Digital Chart. That's why Drake's song still rose the week of his album release.

They do. It was in one of their articles earlier this year, when they first introduced the new streaming rule. As a rule of thumb, just assume that any version of the song will count. But the rule was like this: If a song's EXACT audio (30seconds+) used in a video , video's views will be counted as song's streaming point. But in a live video they don't use exact sound of song. (Unless it's a Katy live performance ) This still seems wrong to me. This means that Applause can lose even 50%+ of it's sales if ARTPOP becomes a smash album Yeah if 750K person use CMA on iTunes it can lose and It's ALL RIGHT for me if you ask :)
