Well she mentioned ARTPOP in March 2011 interview so I guess during march 2011 and he had already written some songs because I also remember in a radio interview before march 2011 she said shes still writing new music everyday

 

You know, I don't think she could possibly see beyond BTW until it was finished, not matter the things she says like "I had the ARTPOP concept right after BTW was released". When you look closely at the recording schedule of BTW, you'll realize that many things were done pretty much last minute (Bad Kids was recorded in Jan. 2011, HML in March... Black Jesus in April, just a month before release!).

 

I think that Gaga had indeed thought of some songs in the rest of 2011 (like Princess Di and the mysterious Elton duet, for instance), stuff that was ultimately scrapped. I quite honestly think she's started to work on the music we're hearing now when the BTWBall kicked off: Zedd was the supporting act on the first leg of the tour, so that's when they've started working together - and if Russell says Aura was the first song written for ARTPOP, it makes sense, 'cause Aura is a Zedd production.

I'll agree with the Botticelli one. But everything else you're talking about is visuals - I'm talking about the music itself.

And keep in mind that Venus was made barely 2 months ago, so the Botticelli reference definitely came later on in the process.

I'll agree with the Botticelli one. But everything else you're talking about is visuals - I'm talking about the music itself.

And keep in mind that Venus was made barely 2 months ago, so the Botticelli reference definitely came later on in the process.

 

i think that the concept for the 4th album chaged over time... i doubt that she had the whole ARTPOP concept done by the time BTW ended.. i even doubt the concept was 100% done when the BTWB was cancelled.

I was precisely saying in another post that I think the music we're hearing today was written from around the beginning of the BTWBall, when Zedd and her had the chance to get together on the first leg of the tour. And if Aura was indeed the first song written for the record, then it makes total sense, as it is a Zedd production.

When we are talking about writing the song we are talking about the lyrics mainly. Infect Mushrooms are getting royalties to their song so she did not steal it.
