That's when she had her total Venus meltdown, around the VMAs and Swinefest. The lines "Aphrodite lady seashell bikini", "Garden panty" and "Don't you know my ass is famous?" are totally reminiscent of what she wore / what was said about her at the VMAs.

 

And remember this tweet, dated Sept. 19th:

You know, I don't think she could possibly see beyond BTW until it was finished, not matter the things she says like "I had the ARTPOP concept right after BTW was released". When you look closely at the recording schedule of BTW, you'll realize that many things were done pretty much last minute (Bad Kids was recorded in Jan. 2011, HML in March... Black Jesus in April, just a month before release!).

 

I think that Gaga had indeed thought of some songs in the rest of 2011 (like Princess Di and the mysterious Elton duet, for instance), stuff that was ultimately scrapped. I quite honestly think she's started to work on the music we're hearing now when the BTWBall kicked off: Zedd was the supporting act on the first leg of the tour, so that's when they've started working together - and if Russell says Aura was the first song written for ARTPOP, it makes sense, 'cause Aura is a Zedd production.

Does sound very BTW, but I think she wrote this in august 2012, when she came over to Amsterdam for a weekend of fun and didn't get recognized for a full day (except by two friends of mine ;) The lyrics refer to that a lot.

... when you think about it, ARTPOP is the only song that matches the "concept", let's be honest

I think when you look at the album as a whole it becomes a much bigger statement. 

The genre and sound exploration is impressive.Maybe not everyone's exact definition of ART but it does explore a lot and shows once again that she is diverse.

I think opposite. It channels many styles of music, good methaphores in the lyrics with sick electro beat. It's what ARTPOP is about is about. What song is more ARTPOPish in Your opinion?

She maybe wrote the lyrics. But Infected Mushroom wrote the actual song and melody.

that ART and POP can belong together? in some songs we see that ART and POP are in the songs, in some songs we see that the ART is in the visuals and the POP is in the song. but in aura i don't see ART anywhere. maybe there is thats just my opinion

Idk with Applause I see the ART visuals but theres Pop there as well like the verses are full of ART references and theatrical sound, and then the chorus comes and its complete and pure Pop. The way her voice sounds and what shes saying, and the way the melody in the chorus is

 

So I guess I always looked at the ARTPOP tracks kinda like that, trying to find which parts were the  ART and which parts were Pop

It's pretty cool that the first one she wrote made it on the album with all the songs she makes. Her vision and themes and motivation and stuff for the album would've changed a bit over the long time since the first song was written I would think.
