The Chromatica Album Cover

So I was driving to work and as always a lot of Gaga songs come on my playlist. And suddenly Sour Candy started to play and I saw the Chromatica cover again and something clicked in my mind.

The Sine is imprisoning her. On 1 hand it can serve as a security measure, holding her tight to prevent from falling, while on the other hand she might have felt trapped.

her body language shows somebody as fallen/trapped to me, who's also weighed down by cumbersome fashion and accessories, surrounded by abandoned cables/machinery and organic mess/dirt; she's trapped in her mind and has been for a while, like she sings in many songs

i also think mayhem fell victim to the "main cover being mid to boost variant sales" theory because, in my opinion, the split designs represent the multi-faced sound and story of the album better than the main album cover

they just have that special gaga edge to them too

I’m forever mad the pandemic robbed me of an HR Giger Alien inspired Gaga era, the visuals for the album were really something special

Ugh that first one especially is just soooo good. Though tbh idk if it was a variant thing bc lowkey Gaga has always had really sickening album photoshoots more than anyone else. And the more interesting shots are usually buried inside

This, Both are so much better than the base one and I can only pray that one day they'll change the streaming covers to one of these  Like every time I listen to Mayhem on streaming I'm so annyoed at the cover art cause it doesn't showcase how sick and insane the album is
