Computer 10,973 Posted January 7, 2014 Share Posted January 7, 2014 Am I the only one who loved Born this Way? The only 2 songs on that album that I hated were MtN and TEoG. Everything else was amazing. I do really like ARTPOP, but don't think that it will stay on my mp3 player for years and years like all of her past albums. I still listen to JD and PF every time I work out. Will I still be running on my treadmill to Venus 5 years later? Probably not and that's my fave song off of ARTPOP. I love MTN and TEOG so much they are my favorites I agree with OP now but it's hard to tell how I'll feel later. Only if she had more success on the charts,i would have loved ARTPOP more Why would chart position impact how much you like an album? It's just as radio friendly as We Can't Stop which to me sounds just as "weird" as Venus. AGREED! I think Venus is a really fun song and very s-xy. Wixson 5,004 Posted January 7, 2014 Share Posted January 7, 2014 Sorry but Alejandro is her biggest it in a lot of Non-English speaking countries so I think it was a much better decision than Dance In The Dark, although I think it would have been a great fourth single (and Monster fifth). I wasn't a fan then but I remember reading Beautiful was planned as 2nd single. It's OK! And I just gotta say that I completely agree with your Alejandro-related post. People bring up Poker Face and Paparazzi and Bad Romance having strange lyrics, but forget that they also had top-notch, solid, seamless productions behind them. Venus is Gaga rambling on about garden panties, oysters, and the planets over a song that sounds like several vintage snippets pasted together. And I feel like we've been in the Venus era since August with the imagery, performances, and her usage of it in interviews and online chatter. It feels like it has already been a single, which is why I'm Venus-ed out by this point. Venus could be something and I'm all for Gaga taking a risk, but I would just rather put a different song in the spotlight. This tbh, I actually love the song but she performed it twice in the Uk and which song did people buy? DWUW ofc. There has been no mad Venus reaction, it's not even been as popular as her singles and even dope got more critical acclaim. I am all for Venus being a single and it could still be a hit but there are songs on the album that would have a better chance and I think the era needs them more atm. Leave Venus back, do a Killer video and arrange some kind of amazing release/promo and then it can be a single later in the era. Gypsy, GUY and even MANiCURE are better choices for now.
