It would make more sense if she was just acting The performance was the embodiment of the long, hard period she went through that the song refers to. The song couldn't be more personal, emotional and raw for her - and that's what you saw and heard. Maybe part performance art but at the Berlin listening party she also struggled not to cry and eventually did.
