Seriously my 10 year old cousin knows about a--l s-x through the internet and he seems to still be functioning normally. Children aren't as ****ing vulnerable as many of these complainers think. Dex 117
Damaging to the children LMAO I don't think wearing a *costume* is as damaging as seeing contestants having their sob stories exploited before they RUIN music with the judges' rediculous song choices. TV in general is damaging, people need to get a grip on reality. the thing that gets me is that the x factor contestants did a cover of Bruno Mars' song, Locked out of heaven, which has the lyrics, "your s-x takes me to paradise." yet no complaints were made about that being sung on television but Gaga's outfit was too provocative? GTFO oh really?! ffs, people are so dumb. OK I'm over this, people have been complaining about stuff like this for years and nothing gets done about it. Music artists will be music artists! Guest
I thought Europe was more liberal about nudity and s-xuality and stuff...I still don't see how this is provocative when her VMAs thong didn't get as many complaints...

It's not just the nudity. "Do what you want with my body" (you know, the lyrics of the song)
WheresTheDoggo 11
That performance for Gaga was toned down 2010 and 2011's performances were a lot worse then this was and even Children In Need was worse than that and that was a charity performance hey I'm Doggo :derpga:

JazzGa 14,530
Someone please point out to me what exactly there is to be offended about in this performance??? They're wearing leotards and bikinis and I don't see how the color makes them more offensive than being some other color o.O Also I am 200% done with people being offended by nudity. We are born naked. We see ourselves naked daily in the shower. Young children like to run around naked because there's nothing inherently wrong about it-- they only develop "modesty" when their parents teach them that they should be uncomfortable with their and other people's bodies. Besides that, pop stars are for teens and adults, not children. If you want your children to watch child-safe-only programming, stick to Disney Channel please. My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
teo 609
Well b---h, change the ****ing channel if you feel that Gaga in underwear will damage your stupid child for life...
StrawberryBlond 14,261
Why do newspapers even report on complaints when there's as few as these? There were around 9 million viewers that night, so these complaints are irrelevant. When Xtina and Rihanna performed on the 2010 finale, there were 4,500 complaints, a figure worth reporting on (but at the same time, not really, as there were nearly 14 million viewers, so it evened out). Gaga did not strip, as so many reports claim. Peeling off the seashells attached to her bra isn't stripping, it was a slight outfit change. By that logic, a singer pulling off the lower half of their full length dress to transition from a ballad into a dance number is stripping too. I find it sad that Gaga gets complaints when Robin Thicke performed last week, surrounded by half naked women while he sang about s-x. Typical s-xual double standards. I partly think some people are just looking for a reason to hate Gaga at the moment, as well, so this was an ideal vehicle for that. I really wonder about the general mindset with these complainers as regards s-xuality. Do they take their kids to the beach or the swimming pool, where women walk around in bikinis? Do they take their children to clothing stores where there's full body shots of models advertising underwear in the lingerie department? Do they let their children watch gymnastics and swimming on tv, where the outfits are high waisted and show off every curve? Do they let their children watch Strictly Come Dancing where every episode, at least one woman is basically wearing a scarf tied round herself and is being thrown about in seductive poses? It's like, don't switch on the tv if you don't want your kids to see reality. Women in underwear will not warp a child's mind. They'll have already seen their mother in the same attire at some point. Even if raunchy performances were past the watershed or on a non family show, kids can look it up on the plethora of electronic devices parents let their kids have these days - laptops, tablets and smartphones. And being on the internet in general will take them to truly damaging places where Gaga prancing about in her skivves singing "do what you want with my body" will be on par with afternoon tea with granny on the shock-ometer. I thought Europe was more liberal about nudity and s-xuality and stuff...I still don't see how this is provocative when her VMAs thong didn't get as many complaints... In continental Europe, yes. Especially in Netherlands, Germany and pretty much all of Eastern Europe. In these countries, prostitution is legal and accepted and there's brothels in the public parade of shops. As an extension of this, they tend to be very open and accepting of s-xuality with less of a "think of the children" approach. But not all of Europe is that free wheeling. I'm very anti-s-x industry, so I'm glad to be living in somewhere like Britain where levels of deceny and common sense are deployed regarding s-xual depictions, especially in public areas and public viewing experiences. Family shows should be just that and I don't want to feel uncomfortable watching something overly s-xual with my family, even though I'm an adult. The UK may love its raunchy popstars (seriously, I'm still amazed that Taylor Swift managed to make it over here because she's so clean-cut), but we are very strict about inappropriate performances before the watershed. We're fine with s-xuality, as long as it's delivered to the correct audience.
britneylopez99 0
the fact that people still act like this over gaga, shes been out for 5 years. get used to it. as some old nobody flop named Paul McCartney once said "This is Lady Gaga, not Lady Behave Yourself"
Mama Ru 994
Yay Helen Lovejoy! Anyway, wtf. Did the people sending complaints all just wake up from a 60-year coma and they still think it's the 1950s? Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.
