but the Industry doesn't work like this ...  I mean If Gangnam Style can be a smash then Teeth can be the best selling song In the world ? No.

DWUW isn't urban.. at all. Just because there is a black guy in it doesn't mean it's urban.

It's one of the purest pop songs she has ever released lol

:wtf: Its definitely the least pop single out of all Gaga's singles (excluding You and I).

Before you say I am obssessed with you, please name some less pop influenced singles!

DWUW is definitely Urban. It's a pop song, to be sure, but in a very clear R&B vein, which is one of Urban radio's staples.

We must really support it on Urban radio stations for them to start playing it.

Venus would actually have been a perfect second single in my opinion. Go big or go home tbh :nails:

DWUW will not get any urban support, though the song is like Hold On, We're Going Home and has that feel, it's much more pop and she doesn't have and urban background, so it will get no support. Just rhythmic and top40. Like Americano said, ppl are thinking that just bc there's a black artist on the song it's automatically part R&B. it may have R&B/throw back R&B influences, but it sounds nothing like what's on R&B radio.

I just had to post this song here. I have this feeling that it would do well if ever released to radio... It's a slow ballad/duet, but it's just soooo gorgeous :emo:

Rhythmic is the closest thing you'll get w/ DWUW impacting an "urban" audience. Maybe if it was J&D, Starstruck, etc, it would impact well on urban bc those could actually blend w/ what's on urban radio.

What does Royals' cross-over have to do with DWUW and urban radio's reception of it? While Royals' production isn't totally foreign to urban's current soundscape it's less mainstream sounding to begin, and with no R&B superstar anchoring it, Royals is much more an outsider to urban radio than DWUW is. Royals needed massive support to crossover because it wasn't an obvious fit for the format. DWUW IS an obvious fit for urban.

I think Venus could have smashed. You guys act like its a Judas or Aura. Even though Judas flopped, it's easily one of her more recognizable songs and brought the most fan-fashion (bandanas, jean and leather jackets) out of the BTW singles.

DWUW is great too though. Honestly, I think she will probably release everything as a single this point, every song is somewhat radio ready.

Even Lorde is getting Urban support though.

Oh well, if it's only getting Rhythmic/Pop support, it's a bad second single choice. The only thing this song has is cross-over appeal and if it doesnt on radio :noparty:

Just now realising that Venus isn't just a better song but probably would do better too :rip:

I feel like Starstruck would be a much harder sell on urban than DWUW's obvious R&B smoothness.
