I know, I'm relieved it's not a single & I hope it stays that way...it's pretty catchy, though (the chorus is, at least haha). I mean I sort of like the bridge & chorus but I'm just not loving the overall song. Are you listening to it with headphones? I don't know why I can't get into it. If the whole song was like the pre-chorus, "I CAN'T HELP THE WAY I'M FEEEEELIN," it would be one of my favorites we've gotten thus far. It just gets too disjointed after that IMO

 

It's sooo much better in headphones. We've been saying this with every song so far, but this is especially the case with Venus. The difference is clear as day. 

 

And I agree, it's very disjointed. Like 3 songs in one. Which I didn't like at first, but now I love it. Instead of listening to a structured song, it's kind of like taking a 4 minute journey that goes by too quickly. Almost like taking a journey through....space. lol. Somehow Gaga made this disjointed mess work so damn well, I love it lol

Gypsy is more TEOG apparently, so I'm assuming that means it has a slight rock edge, and synthy.

 

I think Dope will have a drum/piano ensemble. But we can't really guess at all 

 

I see it being a little more piano-based and slower than TEOG, but idk. I'd love it to be piano with a faint EDM synth throughout the verses, building up to a huge rocky synthy chorus. 

 

Maybe Dope will be similar to Brown Eyes? I wouldn't complain, I love Brown Eyes lol

thats not true at all when its a non-lead single.

lead singles always get SERVICED on day one, and thats why adds dates become irrelevant. if they arent, they make a huge difference.

why do i need to explain this every 2 pages. not to be rude, but if people don't know, don't argue

it is not true AT ALL. i follow radio chart as closely as you did years ago.

adds date worked best for songs from unestablished artists. established artists like katy gaga and rihanna dont need adda date to let radio play the song.

no matter what single it is be it second or third, if radio want to play it they will play it regardless of adds date

there are too many examples of this. Wrecking Ball was gaining huge before adds date.

same with gorilla. last time TEOG was already being played before official add date.

my point is that im not arguing with you.

i just think that we can start requesting already even before adds date. we just need to let DJ knows people are interested in DWUW.

Given what we've heard, and given the critical reaction to the released tracks so far (and, of course, trying to remove my own subjective opinion), I think we might be looking at Gaga's worst reviewed album to date. I think she's got an uphill battle. I'm pullin for her, though.

I seriously can't get venus out of my head. As a whole I am not a super fan of the song but I think it is addictive! Very happy with Gaga this go around, it seems there is something for every type of fan.

MJH is by far my favorite snippet so far and is about to become my favorite Gaga song ever, but I agree - it should never be a single!

 

I'd release GYPSY as the 3rd, G.U.Y as the 4th and maybe Sexxx Dreams/MANiCURE/Venus as the 5th single, if the era does last that long.

Even with critical opinion, this album is gold. How could they EVER compare PRISM or Bangerz to this album? I love Miley and I love Katy but most of their album is garbage (with a few good tracks within). ARTPOP is nothing LESS than solid the entire way through.

if you compare the AI updates before and after an impat date, its huge (if its not serviced intially)

FYI: TEOG was serviced the day it was released as a promo. Same goes to WB. DWUW has not been serviced at all.

 

If you don't know what servicing via radio "mailboxes" is, its not gonna make sense. which most people here clearly dont know what it is

I don't know ANYTHING about add date/service.. etc. Just adding some info for the discussion, my local radio station. (Shreveport, Louisiana) Played DWUW the morning after it was released and throughout that day. Granted, the dj is a Gaga fan.. so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. She probably added it to the playlist herself without any interaction from anyone. I guess it depends on the dj.
