I mean Applause was pure Dance/Pop or Europop whatever and It underperformed In Europe so ... And I also love when Gaga releases risky songs like VENUS, but right now the 2nd single is already chosen so why do we have to argue about stupid things like that ... I'm already collecting your names and posts ;) it will smash only in the US. I'm not here for a local hit again. Also we shouldnt be afraid of weird thing that is why Gaga is unique. If she had all songs like DWUW she would never be where she is now Though that's true, I think the release of DWUW makes it equally unique too, well in terms of being a Gaga single. Like some have already pointed out, an R&B/Pop collaboration from her isn't something she offers in a regular basis, hence making it unique. The initial reception was that DWUW didn't sound like a Gaga song, whereas Venus screams Gaga all over it. We could take Judas and TEOG for example. Isn't it the same situation for DWUW and Venus right now? Judas was BR 2.0 but TEOG was something "new" from her. And that something "new" was widely well-received. I would be totally fine if Venus was the second single, but if I had to choose between Venus and DWUW for SECOND(very important) single, I would choose DWUW as well... And Gaga's emotional vocals makes It actually sound kinda "hurtful" like It's a ballad but obviously It's not but the comparison with JGMAR and Stay is actually a good one ... yes they were ballads but the only difference Is that DWUW Is R&B and Electro Influenced, If It was pure pop It'd probably be a midtempo like Diamonds which also sells albums ... I love VENUS tho .. so IDK ... I think DWUW will slay and not only In the USA.. I can't believe people actually think that Europe can be slayed only by Electronic/Dance/POP some of the biggest hits are Mid - tempos / ballads !
