nick4bty 2,758
I am just speechless that a huge label is allowing their biggest artist's comeback be this messy and unplanned. SHAME ON YOU INTERSCOPE, SHAME ON YOU!!!!! The audio is still restricted. I have lost the little faith I had left in Flopyscope if they are allowing the audio to be like that losing probably a million views yesterday and another million today. Well done Flopyscope! What are you talking about? Who cares if the audio is still restricted? It was just released Monday. It has months to gain views on YT. Maybe getting it unrestricted isn't Interscope's top priority right now. Or maybe it's completely out of their hands, and YT is handling it. Just stop, please. Hundreds of thousands of artists would kill to be on Interscope.
hmm 979
Venus wasn't even released, so what does it matter? For all it matters, DWUW could've been the single all along and this fanbase would be ecstatic. Hell, when DWUW was just a promo single people loved it, and now all of a sudden people hate it and are making a mess out of nothing? I don't get it That's exactly why people probably aren't happy with it, if it was always planned to be the single it could have been dealt with a bit better, in terms of promotion etc.
Blues 0
haha atrl is a mess right now and finally they're dragging someone other than gaga Decent #s but never in my life have I seen this much time, effort, money and talent being invested into someone as basic as Katy Perry. This b---h is coming off the most promoted era of all time with billions of AI not to mention a movie devoted to how awesomely relatable and talented she is, she has a safe, eager-to-please-everyone image and music professionally engineered for the masses, she has 200M+ AI from Roar alone, her "cure cancer and buy Prism" radio ads have been nonstop all month, her TV commercials for Walmart aka the biggest music retailer in the US have been nonstop all month, iTunes even gave her a countdown to Prism on its front page all month, every radio station literally dropped everything all day yesterday and made it Katy Perry Day…and she's struggling to hit 300K? Total media saturation: radio, TV, print, billboards…and she's struggling to hit 300K? I mean: http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=448414
craig 680
Like why can't we have an era perfectly planned out like Katy's ? These chose a crappy 2nd single too. Uncon. got a huge boost in airplay yesterday but it is stabilzing at 75% of DH. One Republic will be next #1 after Lorde. What really sucks, is they have made Monsters distrust Interscope and distrust Gaga's future hype. She got us exited for a certain kind of single and album, then everything changes. Dangerous Man 9,245
I wish! But the world is not ready for such slayage But... but that will help the pre-orders to soar a lot. The song was created from heaven. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
nick4bty 2,758
If it was planned as a single we would have a lyrics video + the audio would not be age restricted + a radio deal would have happened. Yeah, it may smash in the end but this start IS messy... I was not talking about sales Katy can keep her 300k gaga'll have at least 400k first week. A radio deal would NOT have happened and we probably wouldn't have had a lyric video. And didn't Katy/Bieber stans all report the audio video at the same which causes it to be restricted? Basically, nothing would be different. At all. Except people wouldn't be melting down. lol.
riz 0
A small set back without any real big promotion just yet. I am just waiting before I panic to see the radio play, video and performances first. It will all work out. This era is amazing so far!. This tbh. everyone just keep your panties on. Give it time to pan out.

Dealt with better? What does that even mean? It got a ****ing commercial. Gaga went on radio stations galore to promote it. She even did a Twitter rant to promote it. SHE BOOKED ****ING R.KELLY TO FEATURE. Just because there's like one hiccup (the lyric video restriction) doesn't mean anything would be any different if this was a single all along. Whatever helps you sleep at night in the middle of this DISASTER that is Gaga's attempt at a single launch. No stations are even playing the song, they're playing Applause. You think that's NORMAL? Math 92
at least I think DWUW is the closest Gaga would get to a crossover hit and a grammy nomination right now crossing my fingers for the best

I don't get it I love Tony Bennett too and will buy GagaBennett album. Doesn't mean I'd be happy with a jazz duet for 2nd single.

I know this is the us chart thread but different charts have different trends and in some cases have "far faster moving" (so to speak) charts where early promotion is key. The beats advert won't have much affect on countries where it's not being aired (I haven't seen it once yet) and the twitter "rant" won't do all that much in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't call the video restriction a "hiccup" per se cus it could have been completely avoided I suppose, but that's minor

Hundreds of thousands of artists would kill to be on Interscope. Your telling me that a surprise release of a promo single and canceling a planned second single isn't messy and is really smooth. Radio DJs are confused, even some fans are confused, it will only get worse when Venus shoots to #1 and Flopyscope wonders why. They HAVE to know why it went to #1! I know everyone is tired of rants like this but I haven't gone on any at all this era until yesterday. This ridiculous :( British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
