OMG I'm blown away! I love how Gaga really puts a lot of effort into her covers, they're so artistic and risky! ARTPOP cover is so striking and eye-catching, original, different from everyone else! I especially like the background with the painting and the black and white parts. The only thing I don't like is the color of the font, I mean, that pink is just nah for me. But well the rest is amazing  :party:

One thing I will say - as much as I love the cover, I still think the most striking/legendary image so far this era has been the "Applause" single cover.

Agreed.

Applause single cover is :legend:

I was witnessing many people on the verge of breakdown on twitter, and I suddenly realized that sooo many of her fans wouldn't let her make this the album cover if they had been in charge at Interscope.

It suddenly reminded me of the story Gaga told about The Fame Monster cover. She said that when she showed the cover to close people at her label, they were worried cause they didn't think that it was pop enough. And she asked them to leave the questions of pop to herself.

People should do the same: it's cool to see objective criticism and subjective opinion expression, but when people start pointing at some promo pics and insisting that they should've been the cover I really get mad: can't we all agree Gaga has a better idea of what to put on the cover.

I personally like the style: I am very excited it's not just the photo, the whole idea of a puzzle+sculpture+photo fascinates me. From the marketing standpoint, it has it all to be the eye-catching cover, and it seems really different from the other covers.

Our goal in this era is a wild and decisive sprint from the sameness which is threatening the very beautiful nature of pop music. This is where consumerism and commercial issue are really dangerous - not in the idea of selling the song to a famous pop singer, as the Infected Mushroom have stated, but rather in the situation when in order to achieve commercial success people are ready to make similar and standardized music which is being put on the airwaves.

Gaga did it great, she just doesn't wanna be the same.

:clap::clap:

you tell them :whip:

Honestly I wasn't expecting any less from Lady Gaga and Jeff Koons, a true

masterpiece. Gaga yet again proves her artistic integrity is above fads and basicness.

Oh, I'm just visiting-

I like it!

Are the black and white parts closeups of the statue?

They're close-ups of the Venus de Milo statue. Take a closer look and you'll notice.

Good point. I'm sure whatever idea behind it is actually intelligible and fantastic. At least I hope so.

3 points in and ready for more
