I feel like you've really never been a true monster. I am sorry if that offends you because that is NOT my intention at all, but I just have to say it - it seems like you have a "problem" with Gaga's work like years now and that is bad...

 

No one is like forcing you to like her, she is an artist ahead of all, then a pop star, you need to remember that! She will never be just a pop star like Katy Perry(not a shade, just an example) and you need to accept that or just move on to another artist which is perfectly fine if that's what you want but don't say that it's her fault because she's done that or that... She's done nothing BUT making us monsters happy and that's really all I need.

But the point still remains, she's been working with professionals in almost every sphere of the ARTPOP era so far, so it doesn't seem to be the fact that she's not working with professionals(because she is), but rather not working with professionals whom you'd see doing what you like or won't make her "flop" because let's be honest, that's where this thread stems from

Marla isn't doing the best job, imo. I&V are photographers, and the photoshoot looks amazing. But they're not video directors, and that's why the music video is a mess.

Even then, she has been using I&V for like 2 years now.

 

Try out new "VIDEO" directors? Bad Romance/ Telephone, even Poker Face/BtW/Just Dance have been better because they had a simple, but really polished direction.

Bad Romance had a theme, a consistent look, and even a nice story that wasn't outwardly told or made up on the spot.

Telephone was pure tongue in cheek fun on a bun, but still was fluid and entertaining.

 

Poker Face was stylistic without having to have some tacked on commentary.

you could literally stop the applause video at any time and it could be a photograph. a great photograph. thats why she chose them to direct it.  i agree the scenes cut to each other a little too fast, but other than that it was incredibly succinct and on point to me. and inez and vinoodh have directed a lot of videos, great ones.

 felt like she still has the potential to be the best Gaga she once was - and I felt that with the ARTPOP (song) performance.

WB's video is simple. Applause's isn't because it's full of ideas (because of her and because the directors couldn't tell her to stop, probably).

I get what u r saying and I felt the same watching... Applause and the Y&I video. There was like 35421321x ideas at once which translated to a giant mess. A very beautiful and cool mess but still mess.

It's like putting colors in glass. U put blue and yellow and see green, then in another glass put blue and red and u see purple....thne u think "that's so cool what will happen if I mix them together" and u put the blue,yellow, red, green and purple in one glass....and u see black. 

 

Once two ideas are mixed and then u mix them with another 2 ideas, they start to blur and u miss the main point. That's something she should focus on.
