artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball was the fourth headlining concert tour by American singer Lady Gaga, serving as the support for her third studio album, ARTPOP (2013). The tour ran from May 4 to November 24, 2014, spanning 79 shows across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. The routing specifically included cities where Gaga had been forced to cancel dates during her previous Born This Way Ball tour following a career-threatening hip injury. Prior to the global trek, Gaga had headlined a historic seven-day residency at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan, marking the final performances ever held at the iconic venue.
 

The artRAVE concept and title were derived from the immersive album release party of the same name. Departing from the rigid, monolithic structures of her previous tours, the stage resembled a cave-like environment featuring two main sections connected by elaborate, translucent lucite catwalks. These "Venus bridges" allowed the audience to move directly underneath the stage, creating a unique, interactive experience that brought the performer closer to the crowd. Gaga’s costumes were avant-garde and eclectic, featuring iconic designs such as the tentacle-adorned bodysuit, bejeweled wings, and a controversial marijuana-leaf necklace. The production utilized high-end lighting fixtures from Clay Paky, meticulously programmed to transform arenas into an immersive, multi-sensory rave. The tour received a generally positive response from critics, who praised Gaga’s vocal prowess and the show's high-energy atmosphere, though some noted the setlist felt disjointed due to the heavy focus on newer material.

 

artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball was produced by Live Nation and reached significant commercial milestones, grossing $81 million from over 999,000 tickets sold. Billboard ranked it as the ninth-highest-grossing tour of 2014. On November 24, 2014, the final show at the Bercy Arena in Paris was professionally filmed and live-streamed globally via Yahoo.

 

This video archives one of the shows during the UK run of the tour, more specifically the London shows which were categorized as highlights during the overall tour. London critics lauded the concerts for their sense of community, noting that the O2 had rarely been seen "so permanently on its feet." The shows became particularly famous for intimate fan-artist interactions; during these dates, Gaga famously invited a fan who had written a letter about their struggle with suicidal ideation onto the stage, where she performed an acoustic, stripped-back version of "Born This Way" in a deeply moving moment that remains a defining memory for the fanbase. These nights solidified the artRAVE as a "transitory show"—a bridge between the experimental pop of the ARTPOP era and the evolution of Gaga’s career into the vocal-focused performer she would become.

The reason they’re so few and in bad quality is because in 2012 LiveNation was introducing new methods of clamping down on these soundboards coming out. Soundboards are usually sold by people working on the crew or the venue for example and it’s considered a form of piracy. People found ways around being found out by the time the artRAVE started up.

I agree

I mean, I would’ve loved to see her release it even if it was just a gift for the fans with no promo and stuff.

But only if it was her 2012-13 songs. Cause they would’ve actually been ARTPOP songs. Brooklyn Nights, I Like With You, Tea, Onion Girl and other songs from that time.

But after she said she’d make new music if she wanted to release Act II one day, I’m like “no”

Just make a new album with its own spirit, but don’t dilute ARTPOP’s identity, regardless of what everyone thinks of the album. The album is what it is. ARTPOP (to me) is Gaga dealing with the decline of her huge popularity, while being the biggest star on the planet, Gaga being in love with Taylor Kinney, Gaga doing drugs with Tara Savelo backstage at the Born This Way Ball, Gaga dealing with her mental and physical pain, Gaga making her fourth album, Gaga going “what do I do now that I’ve released Born This Way?”
