Luc 4,775
From the situation with WOA and Dark Horse, it seems that (now) when there is an existing pre-ordered album, that when the promo-singles are released they become available for download to the holder of the pre-order. That availability is sudden, so appears as an instant jump on itunes, but the mechanism for treating the pre-orders may appear near to the time of the promo-single release (WOA) or delayed (DH). On the other hand, actual purchases of the promo-track alone will be spread out across the hours, so it can be possible to distinguish them, and work out from that the number of pre-orders enabling the promo-download. I'll be keeping a careful look at the ARTPOP promo tracks for this effect. Does Aura have a chance at #1 on iTunes?

Magoo 6
Does Aura have a chance at #1 on iTunes? If all the pre-orders of ARTPOP result in a big pulse on itunes of Aura when it becomes available to download to the pre-order holders, then it becomes very likely it will be #1 on itunes momentarily. Thank you :D Btw. will we get also increase from old preorders or just ones that happen after promo single release? And will Applause have boost? The boost to a promo-single's itunes will only be due to pre-orders already existing at the time of the promo-single's release (or more exactly its availablity to download to the pre-order holder). I think the rules have changed recently. I hadn't seen this effect before WOA and Dark Horse. It seems before, that if there was a pre-order then single purchases from it did not appear on itunes, and would not contribute to the digital chart, but likewise there would be no 'complete my album effect' to the song when the album order completes. Now it seems that single purchases under the pre-order do appear on itunes and presumably also in the digital chart only to be subtracted again when the album completes. I don't know where Applause sits between these two possible scenarios. Going forward though, if the promo single makes more people pre-order the album who don't already have Applause, then Applause should get a boost from that. Certainly Roar got a boost due to the release of Prism promo tracks.

bumblebee 2,528
Interesting updates! There are 5 songs in the TOP 10 on radio which are ascending, Gaga is slower than everybody (excluding Jay Z and JT), but possibly has the chance to enter TOP 5 if APPLAUSE keeps ascending for some weeks and isn't overtaken by any other track...
