Can this remain stable throughout the whole month? I wonder...

Perhaps no second single until the first week of November?

**** I'm so, so happy things turned around for Applause. Such a great pop song.

Greenshortz

If they wait until the first week of November, they'll have to do everything in their power to make sure the 2nd single has enough airplay to coast through the holiday freeze. Promo on Gaga's part, payola (or whatever it is that labels do) on Interscope's part and requesting on our part.

The video should come early if not released with the single. If it has any sort of viral impact, it'll take radio a while to catch on to it.

And I really don't think the second single will hurt Applause too badly. Any promo dedicated to the 2nd single will surely be dedicated, at least partially, to Applause as well. A BTW/Judas situation.

remember how that turned out....

3M in sales?

Let me not get ahead of myself

What other big dance songs are there?

I don't care what Avicii sells of whether he he classified as EDM, that's not a fun dance party sporting event song.

lol but these will be totally different songs.

BTW plummeted because... well, it was Born This Way. It wasn't cool to like the song once the hype died. I'm not even sure if it's cool to like it now.

It wasn't that BTW was so massively popular after 9 weeks, that it prevented Judas from getting airplay. Judas's failings are in it's own nature.

Arturo

Judas flopped because no one wanted to hear a song about being in love with Judas, or as the small-minded GP heard, Satan.

Applause shouldn't get in the way if the 2nd single is radio friendly.

Wake Me Up is an absolute tune

Sounds like someone took a Mumford folk song and give it a light Summertime Sadness type remix for pop radio.

Exactly. The combination of BTW and Judas was just a recipe for disaster.

Applause has proven its likability with the public. The next single is poised to do just as well or exceed it.
