Gaga to let fans pick second single

Born This Way was her gayest single and it was a huge hit.

Anyway, MANiCURE is a catchier song than Sex Dreams.

um, maybe because it was the debut single off one of the most anticipated albums of all time?    If BTW would've been released later in the era, it would of done NOTHING. That's exactly why Gaga released it as the debut single, she knew that if she wanted this song to make any sort of impact, it had to be the 1st single.  :awkney:

IKR? ffs, where has everyone been the past decade? Even going back 20+ years radio has been saturated in s-x.

We are talking about POP radio not gospel radio. Sex Dreams will do well on radio. It is literally her most radio friendly song since Alejandro.

Its baffling me that some people don't see this.

What complete crap. What makes us look bad is criticising everything she does. Just STOP THE DRAMA ENJOYTHE MUSIC. I'm so sick of charts this general public that. Queen Medusa was absolutely right - just choose what you would personally enjoy. If you want someone who just produces music with charts in mind go stan for a basic b***h

That's actually what saddens me... XD ... I mean: you said you loved "Marry The Night", yet you thought it shouldn't had been a single... why? because it'd underperform as it did?

I LOVE "Marry The Night", and I knew from the very beginning that it wouldn't do that great on Billboard, mainly because it was too different to what's trending now, it was not that catchy, and the tone of the lyrics were kinda dark.

It's a "loser" song, not everyone was going to like it (that goes all songs, I know, but you get what I mean), yet I was SO HAPPY that "Marry The Night" was a single :-D . Cause it's a beautiful tune, and we got a very emotional, artistic video out of it!! I was delighted tbh.

The OH SO SACRED "GP" didn't felt the song that much, SO? big deal, I mean: who cares? is not like I can only enjoy a piece if hordes of people are praising it :-P .

I think it's sad that you only want to choose the next single based on it's commercial potential, instead of simply picking the one you enjoyed the most.

I'm obsessed with "Aura", I think it's an incredibly fun, daring, risky track, that's so weird, and so Gaga... will it get her the #1 spot? surely not, the audience in general will never digest such a track, and I couldn't care less, I mean: since when we are supposed to set our preferences based ONLY on what the majority thinks?

Anyways, I respect everyone's opinions ;-) .

I think the next single will be "MANiCURE", and I'm ok with it, it's a really fun, catchy song :-)

You know that the main purpose of a single is to sell and promote the album, right? That's not going to happen if the single isn't a hit.

I'm not trying to say that charts matter above all else, but completely disregarding the charts is just as naive as only caring about the charts. Sure, if a single charts at #60 or doesn't even chart at all, it's not the end of the world, but it's certainly not a good thing either. Quality of work >>>> hit potential, but let's not forget that having hits is important too.

I think you have me wrong, or maybe what I said wasn't clear lol.

I do LOVE "Marry the Night," I just think that there were other songs on the album that I would have preferred to be singles over MTN, even though the video was really great and I'm glad that we got it... My friends that are not big Gaga fans like I am LOVE Government Hooker and Heavy Metal Lover for example, and I'm not sure how well those would have been received either, but I would have preferred that over MTN. I think MTN should have ended the album era after a couple more singles. I am not here for the GP, I am here for what I love the most, and to me MANiCURE is not my favorite song so far, and I don't understand why people are thinking that the "GP would eat it up" at all.. maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't.. but I do know that my favorite song from the other night was Sex Dreams, and I also loved ARTPOP, but that doesn't seem to be an option. My boyfriend loved ARTPOP and wants her to use that as her next single, and he is more of a casual fan. He said that ARTPOP just sounds like a "Gaga song" should. I agree with him! Sex Dreams also has that "Gaga" sound to it, to me anyways.

For some reason, MANiCURE reminds me a lot of Hair, which is my least favorite song from Born This Way, which is definitely influencing my opinion on the song. Perhaps a studio version of the song or a few more listens could change my opinion but I cannot relate to the lyrics about curling hair, or putting on makeup and a dress, the same way that I couldn't really relate to wanting to be invited to parties or having raccoon red hair lol.  :P

I also respect everyone's opinions, but I cannot comprehend why people think radio would single Gaga's song "Sex Dreams" out and censor it when there have been songs a lot more s-xually explicit on the radio. It's just blowing my mind that that is an argument on a Gaga forum! C'mon people, live a little! Sex Dreams to me is Poker Face 2.0, not in sound, but moreso in the subject matter, and that was really the song that BLEW HER UP and brought attention to her. I don't think that the GP would be offended at all.

I hope this made sense at all.

I hate posting sometimes because I feel like people are judging me or I'm not making sense and I have a social anxiety so ya

Practically every song on Top 40 within the past 10 years has been explicitly and I stress EXPLICITLY about s-x. Sex Dreams is not too risque.

Yeah, but we're talking about Lady Gaga here. People have hate boners for this chick and are especially hard on her whenever she does something that is risque.

Just look at Judas. There were radio stations refusing to play the song for crying out loud.

And I agree with you. I really do. Personally, I don't find the song to be too s-xual for the radio. But again, it's Gaga. If she says anything "risque" the prudes all come crawling out of the wood work.

You really can't compare it to Judas. The only song that can be compared to Judas within the options is Aura and for whatever reason a lot of you are more than on board for that trash yet its literally the one single that would be the most hated on and the most vainly controversial.

Sex Dreams is not controversial, idk why so many of you are making it out in your heads that it would be. Yes people have it out for Gaga but of the options this is the most mature sounding and the most polished. Last era cheekily immature songs like Hair and Bad Kids were constantly put to the forefront and I feel like MANiCURE just goes in line with a similar kind of attitude. Sex Dreams is a different attitude that hasnt been put forth by her commercially in quite some time if at all.

THIS.

I love Sex Dreams. I would love for it to do well on radio. But I think just on the sole fact that it's Gaga people will have a bias.
