Miley killed Blurred Lines tbh. It's going down.

As much as I say I hate that song...

I actually feel sorry for the guy. Not that he's going down on the charts, but Miley ruined his performance...

I thought that the video and the VMA performance would get GaGa to #1 for sure! But it doesn't seem like the song will be saved. How is Katy Perry number 1 with Roar?

Her performance was Ok at best. Her vocals were horrible and she was drowned out by the backing track.

Can definitely see why Miley is beating GaGa. Although her performance was terrible, it was excellent for getting people's attention. I just wish that music was about music and not embarrassing performances :(

as you say, GP cares about appearance, not performance.

Since KAty also performed, she will get a boost as well. Actually, Gaga's boost was bigger than Katy post VMA

Exactly. And that alone makes it even more impressive.

You don't really know that since Roar is #1. Its already set at 1.0000

lol. if Applause is inching towards 1, that mean Applause is gaining on Roar

If roar is gaining on same rate as applause, the % won't change. If roar gained more, applause will drop.

Roar is already huge even prior to the VMAs. And that song will inevitably become bigger in the coming weeks, with a yet-to-be-released music video and its ever-growing radio spins. But if we'd based on the current updates in iTunes, it's safe to say that Applause benefitted the most actually (in terms of a boost in the charts), at least in the short run. From a humbling #8 (pre-VMA), it has managed to climb all the way to #3. These numbers show Gaga needed the VMA performance more than KP. And the result: a notable sales boost for her single.
