If Ed Sheeran's sales are anything to go by, Chris Brown really can't release his album this year. It was asking for trouble when Ed's new album was called X, the same title as Chris's album (I know it's actually "multiply," but even so), but now that he's had so much UK success (which will translate to some level in the US considering he's really relevant there after touring with Taylor Swift), Chris is going to look really bad if he releases his album with the same name and it flops disasterously (could you imagine the derision if someone had much more success with an album called ARTPOP last year?). He's been putting off this album for so long and now that he's out of jail, he's finally got the opportunity to release it and then this happens. I think it's meant to be that the stars will simply never align in Chris Brown's future.
