The whole Perez-Gaga situation. I'm 100% on Gaga's side and I can't stand Perez, but there's a couple things about this whole situation that seem a bit odd. I think Gaga was trying to publicly shade/get back at Perez for all of his passive-aggressive remarks about Applause, but it has now backfired and gotten worse than she expected.

Firstly, I have to wonder if that was Gaga's way of calling Perez out while attempting to shade Madonna. Of all the times to call out Perez, it happened to be on Aug 16 -- Madonna's birthday! Also, her tweet seems to be purposefully vague, making the reader wonder if Perez had a picture of Madonna pointing a gun at Gaga (or a photo of her), or if he had a Photoshopped/joke picture. If it was believed to be real by the reader, this would make Madonna look really bad.

 

Anyway, so she posts that and then immediately tells everyone not to worry and ignore him. She called even more attention to the situation, made it worse, but then tells everyone to act otherwise.

 

Then 2 days later, she addresses the whole Perez in my apartment building thing very publicly. Not only that, of all the millions of people tweeting and mentioning her, what are the odds that she just happens to see 1 or 2 tweets mentioning someone saw him in her NYC apt. building? Very, very slim. Gaga receives thousands of tweets per hour. Not only that, why didn't she DM them about something so important and personal? It's a bit too negative and over the top to be handled publicly.

 

She then says:

I will NOT handle this privately, the internet is just the surface of what the public sees. I've been quiet for a long time, not this time.

I can fight my own battles monsters, please stop sending negativity on my behalf it's not what I stand for. I can handle myself.

 

Gaga, I love you, but why would you CHOOSE to make something VERY public, if you weren't expecting a reaction to it? Did you really think that you could post about someone harassing and threatening you, and NOT have people put their own opinions in, especially with fans as devoted as hers?

 

Gaga is very smart with how she handles social media and public opinion, so I can't see her not expecting any of what's happened. I really think she tried to push back at Perez and it backfired a bit because now it's becoming even deeper and more personal than ever. I just want it to end because it's going to be embarrassing for everyone -- the fans included.

Standing up for yourself and calling out a bully isn't bullying. When Perez is sending such vile messages to her and being so needlessly cruel how much can you take?

 

You can keep it to yourself and ignore it for a while but if it keeps happening then what are you supposed to do? Although the media attention from all this isn't going to hurt her, I don't think it was for marketing purposes. I'm sure gaga is under a lot of stress right now anyway due to leaks and preparing for massive releases, there is a lot of pressure on her. It probably doesn't help to have an ex-friend be so horrible to her both publicly and privately.

I tend to believe this. I hate to say it, but Gaga sounded a bit paranoid in her reaction to learning that PH was in her building. And her theory didn't really make sense -- renting an apartment from which to stalk her? I don't think that would work. That said, I think she was sincere in her paranoia, if that makes it any better. Certainly he did his part to drive her to that reaction. (And yes, I believe in the "Karma" text, which he hasn't denied -- it's basically an elaboration of his tweet from the same day.)

It may seem unlikely that he'd happen to hit upon her building in his real estate search, but we're probably talking about very rarefied, expensive accommodations, which narrows the selection a lot. I dunno... it would be interesting to get confirmation from his real estate agent. And it would be much more interesting if it could be proved that he did know it was Gaga's address beforehand.

He's only gonna gain more and more gusto from each and every single pathetic message that the most hardcore of the non-listeners of our fan base send him.

 

Gaga has said to stop it, so y'all better do it! It's pointless. It's like paying off the bully in the playground, he'll just want more and more.
