You know what I don't understand? Why she keeps looking backwards instead of forwards. the entire BTW era was about her past and her journey to fame. Why is she still talking about her mysterious painful past? She has this weird obsession with something she's clearly romanticized and reimagined. Why isn't she talking about the future?

Very interesting interview, or i shld say its a conversation. I dont see the general public enjoying this read though, its informative in the sense we are interested in gaga that much to want to know about her process, but to the rest i feel they might just view this as some pretentious artsy indulgence btw these two artist. It feels like we are in a room, invisible, watching their therapy session.

That's why I adore Gaga so much because she pushes us to think and learn instead of delivering some throwaway work, it always has more behind it. :)

Yes! totally  She's a very smart woman doing pop music. What an interesting combo

This.  :noparty:   I really thought ARTPOP would be about the future and what it holds, not revisiting the past, once again.

But I really did enjoy this interview.  It was different.

Whether you like it or not, THIS is Gaga. For the people saying that they don't understand, and it's weird, I completely understand :)

But for the people critisizing her, that is stupid. You can't be upset with HER for being HER.

Exactly. When people are criticizing Gaga for the way she talks in this interview and calling her pretentious, they are directly criticizing Gaga for who she is.  They have a pretty plastic picture of "Gaga" in their heads, and this Gaga doesn't meet the picture.  But this is the real Gaga, that pretty plastic picture is a mental construct that is false.  Some people need to quit worshiping the Gaga images, and either give up on her altogether or take some time to understand where she is coming from, which for a number of people obviously would require thinking outside their box of what a pop star is and maybe getting some education in the world of the artist.

I want to know what happened to her when she was younger that was so traumatic. She referred to this painful time in her life many times but she never specifically said what she actually went through.

I like reading this but mostly for the cute relationship Gaga and Marina have. I felt like they could understand each other and that they really care one for the other, it was nice. But as an interview it wasn't that great, there are so many good journalist out there that could have asked better questions and the whole thing would have been easier to read.

Anyway, I liked reading this, thanks for posting it ;)

I was surprised and a little sad to hear her say that she doesn't want to show her humanity. Good thing Marina talked some sense into her. It's the humanity that makes me stan for her.

Yes, I was surprised about that too! I don't want her to do that, I love when she shows her vulnerable side

It was def. an interesting interview. I didn't understand all of it, lord in heaven why do they use so intelligent words sometimes lol.

I do feel like Gaga was sucking up to Marina way too much. Lots of questions she turned around how much she loves Marina. It's ok that she may be obsessed with her. But the truth is without ARTPOP 99% here wouldn't care about Marina. And we want to read a Gaga Interview about Gaga, not about Marina.

Having said, the interview was still really interesting. I like how Marina encouraged Gaga to show her humanity more often. People think she is too weird but if they'd also see that she is just one of us they may open up to her.

I also agree with whoever said that they thought ARTPOP would just be fun and futuristic. Instead it seems we will revisit dark days with Swine for example. I don't mind though. This is why it's so interesting to be a Gaga fan, you never know what will come.

As a fan I also don't have to love everything she does. It's impossible to do it anyway cause in the end it's just her vision and what she likes.

come on, gaga. seriously I think she's exaggerating about her whole past-stuff

If you talk to any hard d--g user, 98% of them will tell you that the time they were using heavily literally felt like hell. It doesn't surprise me at all that she would feel this way
