Anyone know why she's rising in Australia all the sudden? A couple days ago she was like 24, but now she is 15 and rising.

Australia is the only major music market that she didn't go top 10 in (it's peaked at #11 thus far), so it would be nice if she could squeeze her way into the top 10 there.

They don't want to miss the ARTPOP Ball

WOW. Miley beat the Vevo record and is #1 on iTunes. Didn't think Roar's reign at the top of iTunes would be so short lived by no means did I expect MILEY CYRUS of all people to be the one to dethrone her. :rip: I'm impressed!

Roar is up to #4 on Pop radio. Probably will be #1 by the end of this week or the beginning of the next week. With the video out, the song peaking on radio soon, and no promotional dates ahead, I don't think the song will have as much longevity as originally expected, but I guess that's one of the side effects of a blockbuster era: front loaded EVERYTHING. Radio, sales, streaming, all of it! :laughga:

Speaking of Miley, her collab with Britney has been officially confirmed by her. It'll be called SMS [bangerz], as I mentioned. I

SMS = Strut My Stuff.

:emma:

I'm really excited for it! Britney finished filming the music video for Work Bitch, rumored to be directed by Ben Mor [scream & Shout] and Anthony Mandler [Only Girl, Diamonds, Come & Get It].

I see Applause had a nice radio update today! And now is #13 on Pop, which means it has outpeaked both Judas [#15] and MTN [#14] on that format and seems likely to peak in the lower regions of the Top 10 or possibly [or more likely] Top 5.

Kween M slaying everyone. :legend: I'm very excited for the collab, too! It'll be a single for sure, imagine the video/performances :dead:

I can't wait for Britney's single tbh. Hopefully she delivers the bop :excited: The directors of the video are great, expecting an awesome video :flutter:

Wrecking Ball was a fantastic and polarizing second single choice. It's Miley's typical power ballad, but no one really saw it coming since she was going with the whole ''urban'' sound. I think most of us, or me at least, expected WCS 2.0. Wrecking Ball really did come in like a Wrecking Ball in that sense. Didn't see it coming! :emma:

And people will probably argue that it was an attempt to regain her Pop audience and lessen the controversy and negative press she's received this era, but then, why the video? Far more raunchy than anything she's ever done before, even WCS. So I doubt it was for that.

OH, I should also add that I'm really impressed with Ariana's opening week #'s!

135K is really great for her.

And Tamar with her 118K. Queen! Hope she can scan Gold. :excited2:

I think that "Wrecking Ball" proves the importance and power of the second single.

So, Gaga, choose wisely.

I can't agree with you more! She must choose a smash!

She seems to be delivering the unexpected. For the lead-single everyone expected a dance/dubstep song - she comes with We Can't Stop. For the second single everyone expects either WCS 2.0 or a heavy dance song - she comes with Wrecking Ball. I think this is one of the reasons it's turning so great. She took some risks and they were totally worth it.

About the 2nd paragraph - I doubt it was about regaining the Pop audience and lessening the controversy from WCS. Wrecking Ball was released on the day the VMAS were happening. If she wanted to lessen the controversies she wouldn't have done what she did imo

Exactly. And I was opposed to WCS at first and thought it was horrid song that deserved to tank, but Miley proved me wrong.
