What do you guys think about Burqa/Aura having so many views on YouTube? An Aura lyric video has 340,000 views, while there are three Burqa videos that have 260k, 340k, and 613k views. And this was a leaked song that was never directly confirmed by Gaga (other than the fact she performed it at the iTunes Fest, lol). Is this another sign that people are here for controversial Gaga? 

 

We could look at Judas - poor radio airplay, disappointing sales, but HUGE streaming . . . huge enough that if streaming was included in the chart then, it probably would've hit #1. 

 

I think Gaga should keep it toned down with the controversy this era or at least save it for the last single or sth. She got so much bad press the week Burqa/Aura leaked

When did streaming start to get incorporated into chart positions? Was it during or after The BTW era? And if Aura is going to become a single, that intro and the way the verses are sung need to change. The chorus is so good but the beginning would turn off listeners.

 

After BTW - just started this January, I believe. 

 

I'm saying - controversial things dominate streaming, and people talk about controversy. Maybe Gaga would be smart to take the risk with a song like Aura (or even Sex Dreams) to increase her buzz and streaming? Applause is doing its job in getting radio back on her side, but it's doing **** for her streaming and buzz.

I still don't get why we're having a say in the 2nd single when we haven't heard the studio versions of the iTunes festival songs or half the album itself, which includes almost all of the Zedd/Madeon stuff.

SERIOUSLY. A LOT.

Twitter was buzzing about how offensive "Lady Gaga's new song Burqa" was.

They didn't call it Aura because websites were calling it Burqa. It was a damn mess. It was Judas hate all over again. I was so mad considering Applause was due in less than a month at that point. I didn't want her starting the era of on that foot with the GP. Luckily, only a small fraction of the GP found out. But that small fraction was FUMING.

If Stay the Night is a hit once (and IF) radio picks it up, then she MUST release Zedd singles.

Gaga can't play it safe forever, and Applause is definitely safe, but for good reason. If a song like Aura gets huge streaming and shoots to #1 because of it, the fact that it's #1 may overshadow the fact that it's getting backlash. That might be a chance worth taking.

 

On the other hand, people love s-x (why else is WB getting insane amounts of views?). Sex Dreams could essentially do the same thing with more tasteful controversy. It may not get huge airplay, but it's streaming could be huge enough to make it go #1.
