Americano

Yeah I'm checking KIIS FM and I hear it often on that station, that's why I asked. completely oblivious to other stations. What site do you get the radio updates from?

I have an account on AllAccess (radio industry site) and they give a breakdown on a single and how many spins per week on every US station. I noticed KIIS/Z100 starting to cut her back and that's why I rang the alarm on her radio play. But it could also be a blip in the radar and pick up again randomly over the next few weeks.

It's happened to Gaga before with TEOG/Y&I. It could also be a sign of things to come though, and she could be in danger of a radio rejection. It's just too early too call, we need to wait and see.

Gaga can't always be panicking on to the next thing just because US radio doesn't embrace her lickety split.

So she puts out a 2nd single? If it doesn't Roar up US charts, you'll be wanting her to end the era by Xmas and put out another album in the spring.

She doesn't need to be dominating radio, but if she gets muddled around 50M ai, that'd be kind of lackluster for a star of her caliber trying to kick off an album cycle

It's a little puzzling that these radio stations are giving her fewer spins, especially after she did interviews at each of them. I don't get how this all works...

For the second single I still can't figure out the perfect timing because Katy and Gaga are releasing around the same time, new music from Eminem will be a possible threat, maybe Rihanna's releasing, Beyonce should be coming back, Miley, Robin Thicke...

But then you compare her to other new songs

29 +1 AVICII Wake Me Up 54.935 +2.850

10 = KATY PERRY Roar 103.093 +3.612

22 = DRAKE Hold On We're Goi... 62.778 +1.916

Vs her 0.8 update and it's kind of like, wtf. But maybe it'll restart and get big updates again..

Hello Mr. Radio

I hope the weekend will bring her more purchases and spins. This is a great song to dance to at the club!  :party:

Someone actually brought up a great point. Are there are Brit stans/experts who can elaborate her charting from like 2000-2004? That period was undeniably her peak overall, but she flopped left and right on the Hot 100.

In that era, some labels would not release cd singles, in order to increase album sales. Britney s label did that.

I agree with most of the conversations in the last couple of pages. It's quite strange that a star of her caliber would be struggling on top 40 radio, especially considering her past success. She started her career with 6 straight pop #1's and has been churning out hits in the US since the start of her career. In addition, every one of her singles has at least hit top 15 on pop radio, which confuses me that applause has yet to reach that threshold. I hope that it will eventually pick up, hopefully after the start of the airing of the Kia commercial in movie theaters and on TV. Another positive thing to think about is the increase in sales that Klou often mentions that usually happens after hitting top 15 on pop radio. I still think applause could end up being a good hit if it's sales remain steady. In fact, slowly rising on the radio could be good because it could then peak after roar and blurred lines have already descended, giving her a shot at a better chart position.
