Haroon 49,685
Back to #8 on iTunes UK, I didn't get to check what it was straight after the iTunes Festival, but I'm not sure if it'll rise a bit still if more people watch and discover Applause from the iTunes festival. If not then it'll slowly fall down I guess. Roar hit #1 on iTunes on the 1st of September here (it was released early, on the same date as Gaga's iTunes concert). Roar's still #1 right now too Edited September 7, 2013 by Haroon
Pop 4,541
Also, I know this is the iTunes thread, but just wanted to point out that Applause has moved up to #1 this week on RateTheMusic (it was something like #7 last week), which is a survey system where listeners rate songs based on how well they like them, how familiar they are with them, and whether or not they're sick of them. Radio uses surveys like this a lot to decide what to play the most. More detailed info: Getting a high rating in liking it matched with a low rating in terms of being sick of it on surveys like this are very helpful so, even though Applause's upward momentum on radio has been slowing down recently, this has me thinking it might start to pick up some more steam again. For example, Blurred Lines was rated really high in liking for a long time but when it started rating high on being people sick of it, it started losing massive radio points. It's just that it had such a big lead that it is still #1 on the radio for now, but only for a few more days probably. By the way, everyone should sign up for RateTheMusic! I have been doing it for a couple of years. They send you a survey every week and you rate the songs. Just don't intentionally give bad ratings to every song but Applause because they might think you're not answering honestly and not count you. More radio play = more iTunes sales nine times out of ten so yay! **** yes! This is the best news in a long time! It's APPLAUSE's time to shine! I think that RateTheMusic thing is really helping on the radio and people are hearing it more, thus resulting in bigger sales! Yay! Good job!
