alffy74 53
This is the ultimate meltdown thread. Guys please stop. Anyone who has been following what Troy Carter says and how Gaga has been marketing herself knows that she is not aiming at expanding her fanbase but to strengthen her core one. Anyone who affirmed ARTPOP should appeal to the GP is deluding him/herself. How can you affirm this? Did Gaga say it would? No. Again many fans start making statements as if they are market a--lyzers or label CEOs. Once and for all, Gaga is making music that her hardcore fans will like and buy. She will make promotions to the GP, but this is partly to quench the desire of her fans to be the pop star they expect her to be, and to also remain controversial enough to be talked about. She's a savvy business woman who knows it's neither digital sales nor chart positions that will get her $$$, but loyal fans who are willing to spend money on almost everything she does. Batwings 12,882
Why oh why do I keep coming back to this thread? These constant meltdowns just stress me out. I'll just say what I've said before -- I have faith in Gaga and her team, and I feel like they know what they're doing.

BornSimon 4,818
This thread is full of pre-teens who only seem to know two words: flop and mess. Ridiculous. If you think this is a flop you need a reality check. It isn't the smash we were all hoping it'd be but it's far from being a flop. And it's been out for a few days, she hasn't done anything to promote it yet. If in 2 or 3 weeks it's out of the top20 in the US then fine, use your favourite word. Until then, no need to be such drama queens.

bumblebee 2,528
When The Edge of Glory was released it shot to the top of iTunes US, even battling with Rolling in the Deep for the top spot and eventually occupying No. 1 for some time. However, I remember it going really down for #20 I think before she performed it on American Idol and radio started adding it. so please no panic until the week after Vma. Gaga is an edgy and risky artist who since The Fame is always compared to and defined by her previous work. it would be cool if at least her fans didn't act that way

BLACKOUTbritney 22,356
Gaga isn't a sales artist. She's a cultural artist and a touring artist. Incorrect lol, she's a single artist usually with the lead singles before the album and then she becomes an album artist once the album is released! Her singles after the albums release are usually lower due to huge sales of her album! On Monday we all know that the song will smash straight back to the top
