dolly 1
There are people within the staff who are always going to leak stuff. It happens with all businesses.
N a t h a n 694
 For the entire BTW recording process - they used the protective measures mentioned on the first page. No internet on any of the computers and laptops which held BTW files. Im not sure how people have gotten hold of acapellas/instrumentals/stems etc from BTW, no idea. USB Drives. dolly 1
If you're on a computer that has any sort of internet access on the computer, even if you don't share files via the internet, hackers have the potential to get your information. It's a matter of fact. That's the reason for firewalls, all those virus protection programs (viruses are written by hackers), etc. If anyone has access to a computer that is stored on in person, they can copy it via external file, like USB, and then sell it to the highest bidder, who in turn sells it again, who releases it. Or however many people sell it until someone leaks it for the masses. Yes this is actually how it works--it's a lot more high tech than simply putting in a cd, copying it, and then using some file-sharing program like we did in the 90's. The theory that they keep their stuff so safe is hard for me to believe, because it's nearly impossible, for instance, GaGa was emailed part of the Judas video on her Iphone. They've going internet access on the computer, so things are compromised in the first place, but I think that probably it's insiders that leak the stuff. It almost always is. And people who claim on here to have rare stuff but don't post it are lying--it's clear, because either they would post it, or they would sell it. They could make wads of cash on it. Benji 20,113
Music is even stolen or hacked from the original place it is kept. If I am right (feel free to correct me) Burim stole/copied CDs that were being passed around record companies, that is where he got most of his material. DJ Stolen used to hack computers etc to gain his material, this is a lot riskier but also a lot easier to do. Everywhere you go on the internet you leave a virtual fingerprint unless you are using a program that covers these prints which often slows your internet down to a snail's pace. People seem to underestimate the power of technology, if someone wanted to, they could get access to everything you own on your internet device by you just connecting to the internet. If you don't believe me, look into some stories and advice for exploring the Deep web, they recomend various ways of protecting yourself, including covering your webcam as a experienced hacker could easily just sit and watch you.. scary ****. This is why producers now tend to store there work on laptops that stay with them and do not connect to anything to make sure the work has no way of leaving there without physically having the laptop. Two of the most informative and correct posts I have read all day. I totally agree. I store everything on my external harddrive so that no one can get it off of my computer directly :) Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Will pay you for it. Benji 20,113
*remembers the deep web thread on GGD 1.0* Hahaa, that was a very interesting thread, sifting through disgusting websites and such just to see if we could find any Gaga songs Two of the most informative and correct posts I have read all day. I totally agree. I store everything on my external harddrive so that no one can get it off of my computer directly :) Thank-you Chica! But this does make me ask.. what are you hiding away on your external harddrive? :surprise: ;)
dolly 1
Hahaa, that was a very interesting thread, sifting through disgusting websites and such just to see if we could find any Gaga songs Yeah I am pretty good with search but I just won't do that stuff because I don't want to get viruses or trojans. I just look on Youtube and search MP3 engines/random blogs that post unreleased mp3s. I used to use Soulseek, but it's basically dead now and you can only find obscure stuff on there. I download a lot of random mp3s anyway that put myself in danger, but it's free music, heh. But that's why I use a different user name for every website I go to, because it's really easy for the layman who knows simple internet searching tricks to find out stuff about you. I also have like 50 gmail addresses.

Where that bloke was kid napping women and cutting off their limbs, removing their teeth and shipping them around the world? We still don't know whether that was true or just fiction :toofunny:
