adorno 484
Um, no. 99% of all winter perfumes get discounted during the summer sale season and are then discontinued, no matter how great their sales. That's how the business works. Normal procedure is that apart from a couple of established giants like Chanel N°5 every single perfume (even if it's from big brands) needs to get a new incarnation/formula - for summer, preferably a more fruity, breezier version - and a new name to be sold during the following season. It's not even a winter smell. It's suitable for every season, espescially spring/fall

AgusPop 4,133
You wouldn't happen to get, say, an employee discount for working there..... would you Chica, Could we have another confirmation if is really a discontinuation I mean, of all versions? Thanks Edited July 8, 2013 by pabloagus
Zilla 13,377
Doubt the GP likes it as much as us, just because one store discontinues it hopefully doesn't mean it's becoming extinct :( 𝙸'𝚖 𝚊 𝚓𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚓𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚜 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚐𝚒𝚛𝚕.
Nissa 51
It's not even a winter smell. It's suitable for every season, espescially spring/fall Yes, it's suitable for all seasons, but it is an official winter fragrance nonetheless: it hit the shelves during the winter season, it was sold in holiday boxes for Christmas and it got discounted during the huge summer sale (which is going on right now). The industry requires a summer upgrade/variation for FAME to be put on the shelves again later. That's just how it works for most perfumes, except for Chanel N°5 and the like. Nick 29
Sales were clearly frontloaded. That's how Gaga merchandise usually sells.

Born Brave 2,072
This makes sense... I wouldn't be surprised if there was a new fragrance coming out... and for all we know this could just be a Macy's thing
Cherry 17
That happens with all perfumes, they're seasonal. The few exceptions are those massive sellers who anchor an entire perfume brand, like J'adore by Dior, Chanel N°5, Jean-Paul Gaultier Classique, etc. Those come back after seasonal sales are over, together with other incarnations of and variations on many of the discontinued perfumes. Try looking at it like this: FAME was a winter perfume and that "fashion cycle" season is over, hence them putting it in the clearance section. That's normal procedure in fragrances. A summer version/variation of FAME would easily be given shelf space in perfume stores because of FAME's amazing sales track record. If Gaga wanted to create a breezier, summer-y FAME she could, but that doesn't seem to be on her list of priorities right now. :)This makes more sense than anything else. Especially since Gaga has said she's not interested in releasing a perfume if it's not innovative in some way. Will probably be awhile before we get a truly new fragrance. I doubt she wants to reformulate something she's already done.

Mast 980
Shut up please: http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/71983383.htmlhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2229329/Perfume-market-Christmas-boom-Lady-Gaga-James-Bond-Gucci-Marc-Jacobs-popular.htmlhttp://gagadaily.com/index.php?showtopic=41253&page=1 How rude of you. Anyhow, you're still not using reliable sources. The Live Journal link reports while using Daily Mail as a source. They pretty much repeat everything the Daily Mail said. That's strike one. The Daily Mail quotes Gaga as having the best selling perfume of 2012, but they fail to show the actual figures. There are no numbers, just her name.So we don't actually know how much she sold. On top of that, their list is copied off some person called Emma Leslie who you can't even find on the internet. Besides, she's only credited as one of Escentual.com's editors. What makes you think she would have access to all sale figures? The GGD link sites an Italian GOSSIP site. Anyone could write anything and get away with it. The site doesn't even have a source for the sale figures, they just simply posted them with no explanation. Strike three. Point being, o reliable sources have released sale figures. Ciao.
