BROSEIDON 1,214
Can SOMONE please explain to me how "Complete My Album" works and how it will affect the lead singles sales :( all this chart stuff can get pretty confusing!! Complete my album counts as a full album sale as far as I know. And the individually purchased songs beforehand count as single sales

nick4bty 2,758
Hot 100 12. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (ft. Mary Lambert) - Same Love (-1) 37. Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness (+9) 41. Taylor Swift (ft. Ed Sheeran) - Everything Has Changed (RE) 53. Ellie Goulding - Burn (NEW) 66. Selena Gomez - Slow Down (RE) Wow, I can't believe SL decreased 1. I thought for sure it would have made Top 10 this week.

Tommymonster44 0
Burn debuted at 53 on the Hot 100. Radio don't fail me now! My local radio stations played lights today and I almost punched out the speakers. They should be supporting her new material, or at least giving it a chance! Pop Art 1,773
My local radio stations played lights today and I always punched out the speakers. They should be supporting her new material, or at least giving it a chance! Oh God I hate when stations do that. I hope they'll be playing Applause instead of Bad Romance or The Edge Of Glory come August 19.

Well, AC stations won't be, simply because they can't.
Pop Art 1,773
Well, AC stations won't be, simply because they can't. And why can't they? Are they not allowed to until after a certain point? That would explain why many songs don't rise on that format until some time after their release.

Fizzy 2,217
where's the single cover? Maybe she hasn't released it yet!! Wikipedia shows a cover but that's not the original. :) “The scars on my mind are on Replay”

That would explain why many songs don't rise on that format until some time after their release. AC stations are intended for an adult audience, and they generally follow the AC Billboard chart. So only select artists will release to AC stations right away, and stations will immediately pick up these artists' songs, because they know the audience listening to those stations will respond well (Pink is really the only pop star that can do this (edit: how could I forgot Adele, the queen of pop crossover? Kelly Clarkson too); Maroon 5, Train, and others have strong power at AC stations). Otherwise, songs that slow down on Top 40/Hot AC stations will rise up the AC chart, and thus begin rising in AC airplay - this happened to Edge of Glory, is currently happening to Just Give Me a Reason and Mirrors and other songs. So basically, Gaga will not send her lead single to AC because that is not her target audience; Top 40 is first and foremost, and I wouldn't be surprised if she also sends it to Hot AC, or if Hot AC stations pick it up. Ah, okay, thanks for the clarification! I think she should send it to Top 40, Hot AC, and even Rhythmic honestly. Anything to give her greater radio support. That's why BL is getting so much airplay, tbh, because every radio station known to man is adding it. Edited August 1, 2013 by nick4bty

Oh of course it wouldn't get played that much on Rhythmic, but it could only add to her overall radio numbers.
