It shouldn't be awkward though so that's why it's great to see it getting so much attention.

Why is it awkward?... Just because it talks about homos-xuality?

BTW, it hasn't even been sent to pop radio yet officially and it's getting these huge airplay updates.

Yeah, basically. Me and my friends were swimming yesterday and it came on, and awkwardness just kind of filled the air while it was playing. It's hard to go from a bop like I Love It to that.

However, driving at night and listening to it on the radio was a completely different story. It's a very soothing song and I loved hearing it. I think it's a great song, but when you put on a station for good Top 40 party songs, Same Love feels very out of place.

Same thing with songs like Stay or when Adele was dominating. It may feel out of place but it still deserves all the success it's getting.

Still shocked @ Oh La La's updates. I really hope it lasts for the next 2-3 days and doesn't start loosing until Monday, so that way it doesn't affect its debut position. It's obvious that this song will now rely on streaming/radio to help it debut in the Top 40 [if it does it in the first place] and not digital sales, although it is climbing and back in the Top 100! After plummeting to the thousands a few days back.

That's not true, because whenever an Adele song comes on or a song like Stay or JGMAR, there's always one person that says "God, I love this song" and then everyone starts singing along. This song doesn't have that same feel to it.

I guess, but I feel like Same Love has the same potential.

Maybe. If this song could go #1 - that would be quite amazing.

I know what youre trying to say though, it's facing headwinds because of the topic choice and the slower melody. I wasnt shading you, I was just clarifying

I think it has a chance tho
