Kind of a domino effect/butterfly effect in real life and it's actually kind of funny. Gerard Way witnessed 9/11 on the way into work, led to him writing the first ever song for what would become My Chemical Romance and him forming My Chemical romance. MCR was cited as an influence and inspiration by Stephenie Meyer for Twilight. Twilight led E.L.James to write 50 Shades as fanfic. 50 shades became a film, which led to the interview in question.
