I'm over it for her 2bh. Loved her for being an outspoken beetch at the beginning but she's been very apolitical in the past 3ish years.

Like yea she did in the very last minute "endorse" Kamala,  yea she did allow the free Palestine and anti ICE messaging on the screens of her tour, but she had so many opportunities to speak against it, but all she did was pins and very minimal talks about it. Maybe its for the best for her, but I wish she was a bit more like Aurora, Zara and even Mac. She has the money and status to be the voice of a movement but she uses her socials just for selling stuff now, so whatever.

I think her silence has pretty much summed up her stance tbh. The old "I hate violence on both sides and pray for peace and healing" shtick.

Disappointing sure, but I don't listen to her for her political views. BUT If she was outwardly a massive zionist (which I do not think she is at all) I would be much more than disappointed though.

What does annoy me, is if/when she will push for something political that matters to her or she deems worthy of her breathe in future she can politely f*ck off.

The woman has a vast empire to protect now. That comes first, let's not kid ourselves. We can't upset the people who own big stadiums and arenas with our "antisemitism" because we dislike genocide.

I genuinely don't know what people think her opinion would achieve in this conflict. Yes, she has a big platform, but she's still 'just' a popstar that has no meaningful ties or knowledge regarding this subject. A popstar. If anything it would just be fuel to the fire.

Why would she risk her own safety or peace (which she seems to finally have found) just to 'clear her name'? What other positive results do people hope for, besides creating more polarization?

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see her becoming more politically involved again and supporting Palestine as well. But it's not our place as fans (read: strangers) to demand this. And after years of having a targets on her back for lesser issues, along with suffering from PTSD, I 100% understand why she's choosing this path.

Gaga now has a half-Jewish child. Do you seriously think she’s not concerned about all the anti-Semitism going on in America and how her speaking up on situation in Gaza subject could affect her baby’s safety?

Honestly, its too late for her to speak up and only speak up. If she spoke up now, she would need to put her money where her mouth is and show actual commitment to the cause via some big sweeping gesture or people would dismiss it as PR.

I do think having her be more vocal is important. She has lots of political connections within the Democrat party establishment who need to be pressured and having key allies side against them on the issue rather than people they can isolate like Hassan Piker is important.

As for every gay person in here saying "celebrities shouldn't be political/we don't need them".

Doubt you'd have turned away the political activism of the Hollywood sect during the AIDS crisis - especially when their ostracising of Nancy Reagan became a major push factor on the Regan WH into taking any form of action on the AIDS crisis. Or when we had public figures like Diana actively challenging the homophobia and bigotry running rampant at the time by just daring to hold the hands of an AIDS patient.

Y'all live and breathe and have the chance at a healthy sex life in the west in part because of celebrity activism. No one gave a **** about working class homeless queer 20 somethings dying in droves. The powers that be cared because their social circle pushed them out.

I don’t understand everybody’s obsession with celebrities’ opinion on this… is that more of a US mindset?

There are people wearing keffiyehs who spend all day chanting 'from the river to the sea' who still somehow get called Zionists. A tweet in support of Palestine would not stop people calling her a Zionist.

The video of her saying "I love you Israel" will (unfairly in my view) follow her for as long as this is such a huge issue in the public political consciousness, and there's very little that she could possibly do to stop that. Much to their detriment in my view, the progressive left loves a purity test, and one bad thing on your record 'taints' you completely in the eyes of many leftists, regardless of what you do to rectify it.

Precisely this. She’s damned if she does damned if she doesn’t. If she even said anything people would instantly claim that she is “too late” to address it. It actually opens a bigger can of worms if she does actually say anything now.

Taylor Swift equally hasn’t said anything but I haven’t seen this website on her ass about it. I haven’t seen them on Beyoncé’s for wearing Israeli designers on the Renaissance World Tour only 3 years ago, or that her hair care brand came out in Israel yesterday. Most of the propaganda comes from stan Twitter who’s turned the whole genocide into argument point scoring.

Sis.

Cmon now.

This site has regularly gone after Taylor Swift and her husband for being silent in the run up to 2024 (like Gaga) and then after she did say something they started accusing her of nazi dog whistles and racist dog whistles with the latest album.

And as for Beyoncé - the second she does something this site has a line of white twinks out the door desperate to find a way to call her the N word in a way that doesn't breach the site rules.

she's very obviously not, don't be stupid

there's been no actual evidence that she supports solely israel in this conflict

a day 1 fan would know that she's very much in the camp of peace for everyone

I think she's a both sides kind of girl, I mean, she's not supporting Israel's actions, or siding with Israel in the conflict, but she's not boycotting Israel or willing to make statements and such, like the moment the war will end, she won't see a problem to visit Israel for business or pleasure. but at the same time, it's not like she's hating on Palestine or thinks they don't deserve freedom, but she'll not go "free palestine" or say "genocide"..

Gaga is dem, but she never been left, or progressive, she's centric-left, her fight has always been for LGBTQ+ rights, against racism here and there, and immigration when it's time to use Americano for time to time.

The fans created the idea that she's like the leader of the far left, the progressives, but she's not..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I agree with all of this and simultaneously want to add that a person/celebrity might not feel equipped to fulfil that role, for a plethora of reasons.

One could argue that it's selfish to not use such a big platform for good, but we also don't know what the personal stakes look like behind the scenes.

Remember during BLM, she used her Instagram account as an informative resource rather than just displaying a black profile.

she isn’t performative when it comes to politics. I’d like to think that all changed after her Love Trumps Hate after the 2016 Election.

She is a mom, and rn she needs to just concentrate on being just a mom.

Years later if she confessed that while silent she made private donations to support the people in Gaza, would this cool things down from the people who are ready to “jump ship”?
