I’ve always wondered why she decided to move to California, since she was born and raised in NYC.

I wondered the same thing for a while, perhaps it is because of who lived there before? (Frank Zappa) I remember back in 2014 during her MTV takeover she mentioned that the apartment she was staying in was previously lived in by Liza Minelli and Tony Bennett before, so maybe the musical history is why she moved there.

Where did she say that?

It was an interview from several years ago, I want to say 2016-2019, maybe Joanne era. Someone asked why she moved from NYC to Malibu, and that was her response.

blueberry kisses

“They come around, but no one bothers them,” one of the employees added, noting that the couple always have what appears to be security in tow. “It’s kind of like, wink-wink, you know?”

If there’s any truth to this I can see why they like it there. Maybe they want to raise their kids in the area.

For some reason I always imagined her living in some castle tucked away in the mountains with acres and acres of private land.

Not some modern, minimalist mansion that looks like a bank :bradley:

Gaga is a basic btch

I mean this with no disrespect but honestly, have you never met someone that has left their hometown and moved to something that better aligns with the life they have created for themselves? Sometimes hometowns, despite harboring fond memories, can hold way too many ghosts and just be too overwhelming to remain in. It’s always a good idea to explore different places, different people, different styles of living and see if things align with your ideas of how you want to live better. She may have been born and raised in NY, but Gargar is a California girl for sure. And as someone currently living in Marin Countt (west Marin, on the coast), it fits her perfectly. She’s been spotted numerous times at small oyster shacks and such here along Tomales bay and thankfully never gets and paparazzi and press because during the week, early in the day, outside of tourist seasons, no one’s going out there, and there’s no way you’re going to know a a celebrity is there. Tyra Banks was at a crab shack recently and she had eaten, left, and fled the area before any news of it hit the media. I have friends there that have served Gaga several times. I hope she enjoys it while she can. NorCal is NOTHING like SoCal. And I’m sure she needs a change from that too. I came crawling back to NorCal every time I finished up with school in SoCal.

Time flies like the wind. Fruit flies like bananas.

She’s said before that having lots of sunlight year round helps with her depression.

Well I moved from the bay to the east coast and I’m tanned as hell for like 8 months of the year. I was never tanned nor got any sun really in the Bay Area in winter at all. It’s way sunnier here 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I got the idea that it was just easier for her doing both music and TV/movies. Also I imagine she had to live in one of the big cities for work purposes, and NYC doesn't have the massive open spaces like LA. She said she needed to buy a massive plot of land so she could finally feel like she could go outside and wander around peacefully. Also I guess it doesn't hurt that LA has great weather year round

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
