Trump has come out again annexation multiple times (although obviously hasn’t done anything to reign in Israel on the West Bank), but them mentioning that is probably trying to drive a wedge between him and Israel here

Words are cheap, especially his.

But yeah, I guess this is a test of his interests. Does he take the side of the people making him/his family rich? Or Israel's side?

Whimsical bitch

Good but maybe Turkey can also recognise their own atrocities of the past and FREE Cyprus who they invaded in 1974 and still there while they have been bringing their own settlers, mostly conservative Muslims, trying to change completely the north part of the island. They don’t get a pass just cause they align religiously and culturally with a Palestine and Hamas.

Which is why its interesting they have taken this step, especially on the back of the recent Mecca agreement between Turkey & Saudi.

The Iran war's wider consequences are starting to take shape and the first emerging one is that the arab nations in the Middle East are questioning the value of their American relationships.

Which is why it’s surprising they joined in, imo

Yeah I agree!

The UAE goes out of its way to oppose everything Saudi does for no reason, and they go along everything Israel wants. Which is something gulf countries are not used to, usually we are always united, even if there is clashes, its always done internally.

From everything I’ve learned recently, there’s nothing we could do but go to war with Israel to change anything and even then they’ll ensure the rest of the world falls if they lose.

Israel is exhausted, the military is weak, the government is not functioning, they are now making decisions before the elections that they know that the supreme court would declare them as illegal...

It just feels like empty words at this point.. as long as there's no actual real meaning to create a state.. there's no point in more "you've been a very very bad bad girl Israel".

I feel like in international politics words are never really empty words. There's a million mechanisms that get pulled from countries endorsing or condemning the actions of other countries. Even if it's not military action, it's a signal to let industries know there might be future friction in trade between the two countries. Or a signal that any country wanting to make any sort of deals with the UAE or whoever that they need to be mindful of their support to Israel. It further pulls back financial, material, or moral support from Israel's fight and isolates them. A less consequential example of this would be US international relations. Trump tried to have a pissing contest with a few European nations, other countries condemned it, and now those countries are aligning and trading more with US "adversaries".

Lord Mayhem

Israel is becoming more and more hated by the day...now it makes sense why they want to merge militaries with the US...and the US also recently announced it wants out of NATO...as Israel attacked Turkey...

I smell something brewing...and its nuclear WW3 :gum:

This. The UAE choosing this move is surprising, but welcome. I'm still not happy with how the UAE destabilizes other countries though. Regardless though, the parts of the Arab world that still are happy with the US are finally starting to turn away. Thank goodness.

saudi arabia, turkey, and the UAE will still bow down to western powers at the end of the day. moves like these are empty gestures. none of these nations will support genuine resistance against israel.

Point is, we've been in this rodeo so many times, just to end up with the same results.

Do you really think that Meloni or Macron gives a single f-ck about Palestine? one is a fascist and the other does it just to shut up the Muslims in his country that he hates so much.
