PartySick 173,270
The U.S. House Education and Workforce Committee advanced House Resolution 6213, which seeks to prohibit the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) from adopting the federal indoor and outdoor heat protection standards proposed in 2024, as well as any substantially similar rule. OSHA's proposed standard would establish nationwide requirements for employers to implement heat illness prevention programs, including providing water and rest breaks, developing acclimatization plans for new employees, and adopting procedures to recognize and respond to heat-related illnesses. X A couple weeks old news but as someone who's been living in a climate that has hit a "real feel" in the triple digits (over 38°C) every single day since April, this is cartoonishly evil and very on brand for Republicans Whimsical bitch
NeanderthalDavid 831
Oooof I work with people in unions, hvac, and building automation. This won’t fare well with them. 🤡  this summer alone we received so many complaints of heat and getting safety equipment to withstand that and that’s in Colorado, a state with not so severe heat waves like Texas or Arizona…. Yet still severe enough because of elevation. Like major yikes. They pass out from the heat, potentially suffer lasting damage or even death, and if there were no standards or rules in place, holding their employer liable would be much harder. I stg Republicans despise anyone who isn't a multi-billionaire pedo. Whimsical bitch
