And this is after they’re threatening to destroy pip and the disabled community. Throw out your benefits and then force you to be a good little slave and work for nothing

it's actually not the laws I'm worried about, it's the insane racism and anarchy that will be justified to the people that love them

Oh for sure, but we’re already borderline there especially in insular small towns. Look for example how many vandalism riots have happened after non-white people commit crimes like murder or sexual assault vs how many happen after white British people do it.

I think that’s why Burnham wants to devolve more powers to local government because small insular areas have such negative views held due to their quality of life. That then parties like Reform feed on.

Most modern discrimination in the UK however is mostly about the fact that we can no longer just turn a blind eye to suffering in the world and be ignorant. It was easier to do back before social media. White British people want to be wilfully ignorant of race issues, wars and their proximity to the LGBTQ+ community to just be the funny gay men on tv again like it was in the 80s/90s.

We’ll find there will be SOME progress once boomers and older millennials die off, but they’re trying to plant their seeds of hatred in young people now.

"Get a job or become a slave" isn't exactly the political message I would go with but hey

We might be underestimating how punitive society has become lately. People are increasingly frustrated with the state of the world and looking for people to be punished.

And sadly responding to blatant promises to punish themselves.

They're a nasty bunch, ironically going after they're own voter base with this one. It's all noise, most of them are failed Tories from the last government.

Being nasty to foreigners will get votes in some places, but " middle England " and the bulk of the rest of the wider country will never vote for them..we've seen unofficial tactical voting taking place purely to stop Reform winning seats.

Ironically 21% of the people in Farage’s constituency are on benefits.

To be fair, like I said before in the thread, it’s because the majority of people in the western world want to stay blind and ignorant to the problems around them, and now because of social media and the celebrity-fication of politics they can’t ignore it because every time you open your phone we see it.

People want to pretend racism doesn’t exist, pretend homeless people aren’t real or are just in the way, pretend wars aren't happening when we fund them, and their proximity to LGBTQ+ people is no longer at arms length and they now have a “new” (for them not us) thing with being trans they can’t understand because it goes against the fundamentals of their upbringing.

People are obviously frustrated with the state of the world, but id argue most people are more frustrated that they can’t just ignore it anymore and people talk about it in public or in their “spaces” now.
