I wasn't a member till like a year ago so maybe as guest I didn't get the full picture, and maybe it's nostalgia and all but I remember this site being a ton more fun honestly. Old man angry at a cloud? Sure, Idk but trolling was better, people would try to educate folks rather than come in hot with us v. them mentality, and people actually spent a good time here, now we're all miserable. I'm not sure if there's a correlation between this site being more controlled and the loss of community or if we're all older and being an a$s comes with the territory, or maybe I'm in my feelings for some reason or another anyway, I'm kinda all for ggd fascism atp

Sorry. Paralyzing an entire conversation happening between other people because you don’t like it/it upsets you is less “moderating” & more “censoring” Now of all times, let's not go out of our way to encourage or invite any type of "fascism," regardless of setting/context lol

That hardly the first time the same conversation took place mind you and it time and time again leads to nowhere and always endsups triggering people .. hi I'm people. Wtf, nahhh bro what kept being said in general was very dangerous overall and to be honest could very well tip someone over the edge so a mod stepping in and stopping a discourse that can legitimately hurt someone is the correct course of action here. People knew damn well they were talking out their ass too when they said "oh no but it's not like Ariana could see this" forgetting other people on the site and viewing this whole thing would read it, feel like **** and just go on with their day, what are you even on talking about censoring, I felt insane for days on end like, if I was not in my right mind, I was thinking how are these folks not getting it, how ****ing awful they're being, is it just me seeing this. So nah it wasn't just because it upset them the discussion was misinformed and dangerous and continuing it actually affected people and served noone, and mods should rightfully intervene and lock and close dangerous/harmful/unfruitful discussions. Sorry you were triggered. The onus was on you (& anyone else similarly bothered) to not open or read the thread. Sounds blunt, but that's the truth. Prickly conversations like those have just as much chance to HELP vulnerable people as they do to trigger people. Asking for it to be locked (not even for it to disappear, just be LOCKED... so it's still sitting there, unresolved, still available to "trigger" people) is/was self-centered. edit- clarifying: not saying YOU specifically asked for it to be locked, though Edited 20 hours ago by NUTELLA

I don't think of someone saying "Jews deserved to be gassed". That's not provocative as a statement, it's just bigoted I guess there are different levels of provocation, sometimes people just want to piss other people off and that’s what he did. Doesn’t mean he actually meant what he said. I’m also aware expressing my interest in this exhibition here is its own form of provocation, but I believe in redemption and I wish more people did. I've experienced the grief of losing a loved one. I've been heavily drunk and I've been high or tripping my balls off. Like a lot of people. And praising Hitler and the Holocaust wasn't something that ever came to mind when fighting with friends or strangers. To pull from that level of absolute evil when the inhibitions are lowered is a sign that it was already there. And we need to recognise that his views aren't abnormal for european fashion designers and houses. Coco Chanel was a nazi collaborator. Hugo Boss was a nazi. D&G are notoriously far-right. Dior's creation was funded by a member of the Vichy regime. He is a part of a world that not only tolerated the nazis, but openly supported them and dressed them. That would be crazy work. All I’m saying is none of us were in his shoes, hurt and sick people have different ways of reacting. What I know is that he’s never walked the life of an antisemite and was in a dark place back then, he has repented since and I don’t think being constantly brought back to past mistakes is the way to go in this situation. Then again, this is obviously a sensitive subject, so to each their own. If I’m being honest, this « holier than thou » online crusade against anyone who’s ever made a mistake in their life is frankly tiresome, and that’s probably why I chose to say something here, knowing a flock of people would likely come after me. Wouldn’t be my first unpopular opinion on GGD, I can live with that.

Roughhouse Dandy 13,631
I'm not excusing his actions in any way, but I will say I know several people on here going hard against Galliano would not be keeping that energy for anything Bowie-related who had a similar era in his life.
