I don’t think it’s fair to say straight people aren’t our friends. Most of my closest friends are straight, and they’ve supported me more than anyone.

This attack was carried out by an individual who chose to commit an evil act. That doesn’t make all straight people our enemies, and it doesn’t make all Muslims responsible either. Every community has people who are accepting and people who are prejudiced. My own family reflects that… My sister-in-law is from a Muslim background, and her sister is a lesbian. People are individuals, and we should judge them by their own actions.

Let’s condemn the person who did this, not an entire group of people.

As a german this hits me hard.

I went 1 week prior to pride street fair in Berlin w friends, I know dozens of ppl that went to this pride. 

These are scary times as a queer person in germany. A lot of money is already getting pulled away from groups for lgbtqai+ under our conservative government. This extremist attack with islamic background is the worst case scenario tbh. 

Instead of getting support in the future, this attack is already getting instrumentalized by CDU/CSU, our conservative government and AFD, a far-right party, gaining more and more power each day - and next weeks are 2 big elections.

Queer people in germany are getting attacked and their rights removed each day.

I think you can say the same about most religions no? I can only agree that since Christianity and many believers' hipocrisy is way more widely criticised / hated, people tend to be softer towards other views
