Chris Brown will be sentenced in October for London nightclub attack

US singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray over what prosecutors called "a vicious and unprovoked attack" in a London nightclub in 2023.

Police said CCTV showed that Brown, hit the victim on the head with a glass bottle several times, and that the man was then chased, pushed to the floor and kicked.

The 37-year-old star had been due to face a trial on more serious charges, which he denied - assault, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, and having an offensive weapon, namely a tequila bottle. However, those charges have now been dropped.

Det Con Zara Ripamonti of the Metropolitan Police said: "This was a disgraceful, unprovoked assault that put a man in hospital.

Judge Tony Baumgartner scheduled the sentencing hearing for the affray charges for 26 October.

The judge set bail conditions that allow Brown to leave the UK, but he must return on 25 October.

I had to look up “affray”. It’s weird that it’s a lesser charge for a bar brawl when it’s also clearly assault. He put a man in the hospital.

Of course the most serious charges were dropped. He's one of the most in demand performers in the world; there's no way he's ever going to face accountability for his crimes while this is the case. Disgusting
