since her marriage she didn’t care about her career as she used to like many pop stars and she barely has the hunger she used to in her first years; she has been mediocre for a very long time now

I'll say this: Beyoncé has dedicated herself to evolving with the times and even in her own words, being whatever the culture kind of needs her to be and who she needs to be to fulfill that. The prototypical popstar, in that way.

 

Shakira has seemingly been very content with the singular image she has. And it works!

 

Hard to say. I'm unsure Beyoncé would be able to sustain such a singular, seldom-evolving image the same way I don't think Shakira could evolve as Beyoncé has. Two wonderful examples of pop stars, honestly.

I don’t understand why we’re comparing two different types of popstars???

Anyways I don’t like how Beyoncé just releases ****, tours and dips, so I’ll choose Shakira for the sake of it, even though I don’t like the fact she’s been making music for +40 y.o moms for some years now

Beyoncé is really good at making ALBUMS, monumental bodies of work with a concept, she gets to pick songwriters, producers, etc and I haven’t seen her live but most people say that she knows how to make a show. 

It’s such a very hard question to answer. Shakira is a hit maker and trendy to what works at that moment, Beyoncé knows how to make a timeless record. 

 

I agree! And yes, Beyoncé is once of the greatest performers out there, have already seen her several times.

Shakira indeed chases trends, and sadly a lot of her songs that she's made since doing this are not at all at the level of her earlier work.

I wouldn't say she doesn't care about her career, nor has hunger.
While I would agree that artistically she's not pushing herself anymore, but for the rest she clearly cares and is working a lot. I mean, she has a lot of projects and her ongoing tour is huge.
