Gang Bang? Sister…

1:59 - 2:14 of it, yes

THAT's the kind of music that beckons me to a dancefloor.

You're immune to it?

While I'm at it, I'll make another bold (but truthful) statement:

Living For Love could have fit on C2 & it would have been the best song on the record

Living for Love is pretty good, the wet fart house drop on the final version is a huge letdown, imo. I like Gang Bang, but we can’t be out here acting like it doesn’t sound like a Jeffree Star b-side

I maintain that it also sounds somewhat stale / like a forgotten Ava Max song. I truly believe AM could have put this song out (with her superior vocals) & it would have made no noise at all. We're only talking about it rn because it's a Madonna song.

I genuinely can't believe you think Ava Max is capable of a Garrix production.

that 1:59 - 2:14 of Gang Bang ...

This is literally one of the most boring parts of Gang Bang.
It's just a simple loop beat being used to transition into verse 6.

If we want to talk about the impressive parts of Gang Bang its 3:18-3:55 breakdown and transition into the final chorus before the bridge/outro (which is impressive in its own right, but 90% of it's ability to build up energy is due to vocals, the instrumental doesn't actually build up itself).

Like I will happily argue that 0:32-0:40 in Bizarre is better than the section of Gang Bang you use and it's doing the same transitionary job - but it actually builds into a pay off.
You also get a better EDM section at 0:30-0:52 in Everything and 3:27-3:42 in Love Without Words.

I agree with you here. As far as I'm concerned, it is the song most fitting for a dancefloor. I'm surprised Love Sensation wasn't the lead single & Bizarre wasn't the follow-up.

I personally would have done:
I Feel So Free (Promo a week before the lead), Good for the Soul (April), Danceteria (End of May for Pride month), Bizarre (week before the album released & pushed like hell over the summer party circuits).

BUT

I will also say that, cheesy as it may be, the entirety of Gang Bang is a more interesting listening experience than most of C2

I mean, i'm certain Stuart Price would do a significantly better job on Living for Love than D*plo & Rechtshaid did.
Like I hate Diplo's work, but he can do significantly better. But tbf Demo & Nick Rowe ****ed the mixing as well.

Feeling very seen lol

I'm torn on Everything (a song which should have been called Crystallized, but I digress).

It is full of superfluous, messy, awkward moments....

BUT...

it may have my favorite moment of the entire album:

the dramatic finale of the song, when the bulk of the production suddenly drops away, leaving just the piano, the strings & her voice...

Wherever there is the greatest amount of darkness
that's where you'll find the greatest light

🤖  so come outside into the light  🤖

I literally made a loop of just those 15 seconds, because it gives me such chills

The second half of LFL... that female background singer vocalizing...

tell me she doesn't thrill you..... go on, Bronco, break my heart...

The vocals throughout the song are great.

It's the instrumental I take issue with. I genuinely believe the accusations against Diplo based on how badly he treats house music.

I was not comparing tour or music videos…

Also, CII has a very strong message - and more profound to me than the one from COADF

How can you compare a single album to a tour, videos, era, etc.? COADF was dropped when we got full pop eras that’s just not the case anymore. I think the CII film clears a lot of COADF or at least stacks up to it.

as for message…what is the message of confessions I compared to II? One of the album’s biggest critiques is its lack of heartfelt confessions which is what makes II stronger in that regard imo. COADF is a great and safe dance pop album loaded with hits but it’s also a compilation of songs she’d been working on in different places so she could fulfill her Warners contract. Gotta be honest here, CII has way more to say

Girl what? Lol you responded in a forum I’m confusion lol I even said elsewhere that COADF is a great but very different album. I ain’t reading you but there’s not a message to that album which is fine but let’s not claim there’s meaning where it doesn’t lie. It’s a solid, fun dance album packed with undeniable hits. CII is more a biopic/album about coming to terms with various parts of her life. Couldn’t be more different albums
