143 really wasn’t ahead of time, it wasn’t underappreciated or misunderstood. It just wasn’t a good album. It lacks soul, originality and creativity.

I really can’t see it having its moment in 2026 when people are clearly rejecting formulaic pop.

Either this was a payola article or a Katy fan at Billboard was given the reins for this article and galloped away. The description of certain tracks even sounds like those fake Amazon reviews that employees of a brand write on their own company's products.

There is no sign of 143 getting an eminent delayed resurgence from the public. Her only tracks that got a bit of a viral boost recently were from other albums. It's crazy how some journalists think they can sway things by just saying they're true in the hope that readers will believe it and it'll catch on. In a world where AI's getting harder to detect, I guess it's worth a shot.
