I'm also just thinking about this further.. i guess the critique by the giga dolls is, that artists make their money with merchandise and they think that's silly, cause artists should make their money with music - right?
Just because TS is selling vinyls doesn't necessarily mean she's earning her money with "music". Id argue that in the recent years vinyls have become just decorative merchandise for 90% of their buyers. At least Haus Labs has become one of the best make-up brands out there rn

she's generic, her brand is generic, there would be nothing special about it to interest the GP vs gaga's perfume that had rumours of blood and semen but even then was a black liquid that sprayed clear

The self-made men and women myths are so fake. Taylor was supported by her wealthy father. The same thing can be applied to guys like Elon Musk or Bill Gates.

Female artists doing fashion and makeup brands, they do it organically. Gaga is a quirky, philanthropic/cruelty-free, an advocate for diversity and a versatile fashion icon. It makes sense that she has a makeup brand.

The only criticizable thing about this, would be that it’s driven by capitalism. But if so, Taylor is far worse. Her brand is based on her real life and create parasocial behaviours. Her oyster-brain impaired fans would tell you that her other name is "the music industry"... And a teen could write some of her so-called masterpieces of sonwriting. 

If she ever decided to sell farts into music she would be supported by a big fringe of her psycho fans. But if it was another popstar then it wouldn’t work at all.

Gaga would absolutely do it too if Taylor wasn't so criticized for doing it

She's already released several useless MAYHEM variants. The only reason she didn't put out more is that the #1 rule in her career now is keeping great PR

most artists, including gaga, have a deluxe edition and cosmetic variants

taylor has variants even just for singles that have a random demo and some on available for only 24/48 hours

gaga isn't criticised because she doesn't take it to the extreme like taylor does
