One of the funniest fan interactions Gaga’s had that I think about all the time starting at 6:35.

*fan mimes feeling up Gaga’s t*ts*

“You love my boobs? Okay, go ahead.”

*fan feels Gaga’s boobs*

”Good job. Is that your mom? Was that okay, mom? She’s like, ‘Not really, but…’ *laughs* No, just said, ‘NO, I SAID I LIKED IT!’”

Whew, a stroll down lil’ monstrum memory lane museum … where before The Wiltern welcomed Mayhem‘s Requiem, ARTPOP presided over Roseland‘s ten-day funeral … y‘know, in immediate retrospect, they really don‘t wake ‘em like that anymore :bradley::bye:

Roseland Ballroom is the latest (but surely not the last) of New York City’s storied music venues to close its doors. Lady Gaga’s seven-show run, which began last Friday, on her twenty-eighth birthday, will be the final one at the Fifty-second Street theatre, which has been at its present location since 1958, when it took over a building that once housed the Gay Blades Ice Rink. The three-story structure, with its Art Deco bar, will soon be razed and replaced with a fifty-nine-story residential tower. The place where Kurt Cobain miraculously recovered from a near O.D. to play a Nirvana show, in 1993, and where, in 2000, Fiona Apple had a spectacular mid-performance meltdown and fled the stage will be no more.

For Gaga, the farewell shows mark her first time ever on the Ballroom stage. “It’s basically the only room in the city I haven’t played,” she said the other day, during a break in rehearsals for the twelve-song performance.

[…]

Playing Roseland, Gaga said, was always a dream. As a young fan, she couldn’t afford tickets. She did manage to win freebies to a Franz Ferdinand show during her senior year of high school at Sacred Heart, and she got her nose broken in the mosh pit. She tried to reduce the swelling with cold beer purchased with her fake I.D. (Delaware), but her mother got the story out of her. After that, “my mom and dad didn’t want me going to Roseland—what a shocker, right?” Once her career took off, with the release of “The Fame,” in 2008, she went from small places to big ones, and bypassed Roseland altogether.

Also … the immediate retrospect on that proximity alone though, the optics … just … like low-key FameRAVE hybrid vibe undercurrents that she illustrated at the press conference, feel animated in that room

Tour, okay, my favorite … I don‘t know … okay … I know … but when I did The Fame Ball, it was the first time I ever saw you … I know that The Fame Ball was probably—it was: it was the most inexpensive tour, it was, like, the low-budget tour, it was my early tour—but, that was when I, like, met little monsters for the first time … And then, and The Monster Ball happened, and everything … So, I would have to say The Fame Ball, I think; because it was like such a different grind; I was on a bus … I lived on a bus, and I did three shows a night … I did … I would open […] and then I would play three clubs … and then it became a theatre […] but, anyway, thank you for all the tours that you‘ve supported and come to, they‘ve all been important to me. The artRAVE was also really special. The reason The artRAVE was special was because that album was so criticized, and … but Little Monsters showed up for The artRAVE as if everything was, y‘know, Monday morning. It was, but that‘s like: thank you; and there will probably be … something soon […] it‘s like we‘ve never left, guys. [ @ ~ 30:50 ]

Little did she know that one of her biggest opps was in the crowd that night. Peter should’ve sniped you out right then and there.

I use to go to the stage door every night to see her. Got an AWFUL pic w her the first night and then had a tiny chat with her another night about Tara pouring glitter on us from a window above the stage door… my bf at the time recorded it, sadly I have no idea where that video is now today :fail:
