Marry The Night Lyric

So Marry The Night is one of my fav Gaga songs and one of the best songs she has ever made, however there is one lyric that has never made sense to me

"Skeleton guns are wedding bells in the attic"

This line is a bit confusing and seems to be a metaphor for something but what is it?

Skeleton guns appear to be either one of two things: a caulking gun used for the application of sealant or a single shot rifle. Given that she and Luc used to do a lot of plinking (iirc she posted some pictures of them shooting beer cans on Twitter back in the day), she’s probably referring to the rifle. With that in mind, saying they’re “wedding bells” (in the context of “marrying the night”) is just turning firing those guns into a metaphor for one of the ways that she has embraced living on the edge with him and as Gaga more broadly.

I always pictured them making out secretly in the attic, knocking things over. The skeleton guns (I'll post a pic) falling down and making noise. I also imagine she just liked the sound of the words 'skeleton guns'. It's just her creative brain romanticising her memories of rebellious, passionate moments

But who KNOWS   it's up for interpretation and could mean anything

I used to always think “skeleton guns” referred to the fact Luc was skinny (since the term guns is slang for muscular arms) and I always interpreted it as her wanting to get married in secret to him.

If I remember rightly, we suspected they got married in secret (and have paparazzi pictures from the day we thought they did) in Mexico in 2010.

Off topic but Lüc looked like the worst influence one could ever have, and she looked severely attracted to him for years, always coming back to him...

THANK GOD, she was the biggest star on the planet. Otherwise, Lüc might've become her number one priority and focus, and we could've lost Gaga not so long after Amy.

I mean there's plenty of stars Gaga loves that have passed. There has to be a reason Gaga was so deeply and specifically affected by Amy's death when you think about it

This feels like a lot to put on her relationship with Lüc lol. The time in her life when she struggled the most with substance abuse, I don’t even think they were together, so I don’t really see how those things are connected

Exactly, we know he wasn't really good for her and they were kind toxic but linking their relationship/him to her issues with drugs and depression seems like a huge reach.

I'm not saying she was addicted because of him, but keeping such a trainwreck so close to you when you're one too definitely just makes it all worse
