A lot of the people who bitch and moan about Gaga using AI clearly don't know the story of how she switched her live band to an automatic playback because they made a mistake during one of her sets. She has always embraced new technologies.

When did this happen

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Absolutely not since her entire personality at the time was defending human character art, fashion and technology that pushed boundaries

you're telling me petga wasn’t AI-generated?

It was a CGI capture suit of Gaga that was then animated with CGI

Using this example (which I can find no evidence of being true) when she clearly uses a mix of studio instrumentation now and live instrumentation doesn’t really make any sense to me.

Technically she doesn’t even use studio instrumentation, because her keyboardist (the guy with like one giant ring keyboard and five other ones) has almost all her synths from the tracks programmed into a sampler on the keyboard that he plays and loops. That’s why sometimes he plays two different keyboards with two different hands

Yeah, even during Enigma the character of Enigma on the screen was a CGI capture of Gaga

But Ai already existed at the time. There were already tools to produce robotized voices with real human’s voices. This is the technology used for vocaloids and Hatsune Miku for exemple.

Then this kinda proves that ARTPOPGa would have definitely supported AI. Hatsune Miku was literally one of the supporting acts in the artRave: ARTPOP ball

That is completely false. Vocaloids are not AI.

They're like synths. Voice actors are hired to record every syllable and sound found in the japanese language, and it is these samples that are then assembled together, MANUALLY pitch shifted and modulated to create the singing.

Genuine question and not a dig, can you send us a source for this or a video where it happens?

Because besides the early days of The Fame era when Space Cowboy used to live mix and play her tracks onstage with her in clubs/tv she’s almost exclusively always had some form of band with her at almost every gig whether it’s world tours or even her Jazz residency had a live band. I genuinely besides maybe the off tv gig with a small stage, can’t think of anytime she forgoes live instrumentation for a straight up studio track.

I think if AI had been introduced in 2013, the general reception of it would have been very different.

i doubt it, the main issue with gen AI is the fact it steals from existing artworks without artist's consent

that absolutely would have been an issue back then

mother, what must i do?

In 2013 she already used AI in these:

1.ARTPOP app, petga, the scanning, was powered by AI

2. the flying dress.

3. the anemone and cypher dresses.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I didn't mean to say Hatsune Miku is AI.  She would've supported any modern technology that popular at that time like Hatsune Miku. If AI were popular in 2013, she would've found a way to utilise it.

the tour merch with that hideous AI poster were created by a hired studio, something which she clearly doesn't have an interest in overseeing

Tbf it is super rare for artists at that level to get involved.

Only artists who do get involved tend to be the indie acts who have the stock in their spare room lol
